I have this poster for quite a while, but looking for some more historical information it. I think it's a German tour poster from 1983 but not sure.
Anyone has some more info ?

However, the poster is definitely from before 1993, as that year the postal codes in Germany changed from four-digit to five-digit.

Not sure re this. Blindfish Promotions still seems to exist (according to the Google results), but the telephone no. mentioned seems to be a fax no. nowadays. The phone no. should be +49 40 44 13 43. However, I don't know if this no. still working or legacy...Being645 wrote:This number doesn't exist anymore.... ...brunobossier wrote:It says :

This seems to be their email address: blifi@aol.com
Anyway, as they are obviously able to contract bands from abroad, they should have a good command of English ... ...

Not sure if that seemingly plausible story would fit the timescale with TOL coming out just when they stopped gigging. Could it be a poster for German indie record shops stocking the single back then, who were unaware of niceties such as correct font and definite article ?czuczu wrote:I'm going to guess an 83 gig poster where the venue info would be added in the white strip at the bottom

When I bought the bootleg Live at Kir-Club from a german collector many years ago he included this poster and a ticket for the gig... so yes I'm pretty sure it was used as a tour poster.

So then my question is, what is the difference with this one which is I think is certainly a German tour poster from 83 :

When looking at the Gigography, there were only four gigs in Germany in 1983 during the Trans-Europe Excess Tour.
Perhaps it was all planned differently ... only, The Sisters were able to contract for a short US-Tour (for the very first time).
So they might have slided those dates into Trans-Europe Excess ... giving up others ... (all speculation!!!)
Anyway, I'd also bet the first poster is of Kir Club, Hamburg, especially since the promoter is from Hamburg, too.
And the second one looks like from Moers, Aratta.

Am still not convinced, as this would have been printed months before Temple of Love was released (in October 83). Were these not the first (and only for a long time) gigs where ToL was performed ? The promoter must have been very well-informed. As I think I've said before, IIRC the Sisters were lining up a much lengthier tour to promote ToL but Gunn's abrupt departure in September seemed to put an end to that.xfloorshowx wrote:When I bought the bootleg Live at Kir-Club from a german collector many years ago he included this poster and a ticket for the gig... so yes I'm pretty sure it was used as a tour poster.

Maybe but they played Temple of love already since Amsterdam Paradiso end of August 83. So it's true it could be possible there was a longer tour planned in Germany to promote the release of Temple of Love for which these poster was made. A single release in October means it was already planned some time before and printing some posters does not take that long, certainly considering how simple the layout of the poster is.

Yea, you're right. And ToL was supposed to be released in September originally (according to the ZigZag interview) but like all MRs there seemed to be some slippage in the release date.
A bit like the new one right?Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote: but like all MRs there seemed to be some slippage in the release date.

Well, if Temple of move was originally supposed to be release in september 83, then it makes perfect sense the German dates were planned around end of August, early september.

Belgium, England, Belgium; then four dates in the The Netherlands and Germany, respectively
- and off to exceeding European Borders ...
Sweden was already a month after all that, nearly the end of October ...
