Aye, saw this elsewhere - I'll be participating, as there's a local and legendary independent record shop about 10 or so mins. from here. Can't wait!
Oh - sis-in-law bought the oldest nephew an actual *record player* for his b-day last week. W0000000T!

Thanks for this post, the Record Store link has just provided me with some interesting info about a new record store that has opened up in my town which is excellent news

Band and I could be playing a gig in a record store.
Not extremely exited for it, though...
I don't know why, I just feel really uneasy about playing gigs.
But at 5 today, I do have a recording session, one of 4, for my CD released on the 1st of May.
Really anxious, it's difficult.

A Bat For Lashes 7", a TSOL 7", a Triggerfinger 10", that King Midas 12", a Burzum LP etc and I hope I can get my hands on that A Place To Bury Strangers tribute to Dead Moon LP but that might be the hardest one to find here...
I guess you'll be after that Glove LP?
400+ RSD exclusives is a bit much though

I'd love it. & the KMKMKM red vinyl.
But I don't think it's available other than in the US & UK

IF ANYONE FROM THE UK IS ABLE TO PICK UP THE FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD 7" PICTURE DISC (MAXIMUM JOY) CONTRIBUTION TO RSD THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC

anyone?
Thanks a lot

I only got to a shop by closing time, so most specials were gone already...
Sorry Jost, didn't see no Frankie Goes To Hollywood 7". And no Cure/Glove LP's either. Nor that Dead Moon Tribute by APTBS I was after.

evilbay is doing a roaring trade at the moment. but people are making mistakes on the 'buy now' option, so picked up a few relative bargains
seen marychain go for £80+ then 30seconds later, another go for £30

I found the "special" releases a bit underwhelming this year, way too many re-releases and not enough bands taking time out to put down a couple of songs on either side of a piece of 7" vinyl.
We travelled up from Southest London to Oxford for the day to take in the Wedding Present in-store at Truck Shop, but predictably enough, by the time we got there, all the really appealing vinyl (Velvets!) had gone.
Pubs were good though, met up with friends from the Midlands and as ever David Gedge and pals were great, so roll on RSD 2014.

Thanks Pista, but looks like I was too late again - couldn't spot it on that list. Desire to own has diminished slightly since learning that the album is available as part of the Velvets & Nico multi set that was released last year(?).
Interesting to see Squeeze getting a vinyl re-issue, I payed £20 for it a few years back aware that it was going to be quite a long way from Reed led VU. It's bad, but not as bad as many would have you believe.
Date for your diaries.
April 19th.

I read here that a re-issue of In Ideal For Living's on the list this year.

Amongst all the usual re releases and different formats/coloured vinyls, Peter murphy is putting put a limited 7" in the States featuring an exclusive mix of what will be the first single from Lion plus a track unavailable elsewhere. New stuff from Jon Langford too.

The pogues with Joe Strummer, the new ost from Nick Cave and Warren Ellis and that Peter Murphy 7" seem to be the most interesting for me. I was hoping the Cure will reissue the head on the door this time but nope..
