Tracks you skip or "The 1959 Effect"

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I was wondering: Is there anyone who doesn't skip over "Shiva"?
& it got me to thinking.
Are there tracks you always skip on what are otherwise very good albums?
As the Boss calls it "The 1959 effect".
Cheers.

just thinking of the bigger obvious goth bands & albums...

the sisters - vision thing: when you don't see me
cult - love: brother wolf sister moon
depeche mode - black celebration: new dress
bauhaus - mask: of lilies and remains
jesus & mary chain - darklands: nine million rainy days

don't think i've listened to any of those tracks (willingly) in about 10 years

 Nice one. I'm with you on that one.

I'd say Detonation Blvd is a skipper.

Of course, it could be known as the Revolution 9 syndrome.

Bowie - Diamond Dogs: "Rock 'n' Roll with Me" (it was obviously some sort of terrible mistake putting that track on an otherwise sublime album)

1959, Det. blvd. WYDSM, This Corr., never land (full length) almost whole side A of FaLaA.

and i quite like 'of lilies and remains', even that i hadn't listen to that album for years-; i love that bass line.

i can't recall any other songs that really don't like that much to skip, in fact now i like dig something new in songs that i know.

I tend not to bother with "bonus" tracks when they come after what was the last song on the original release, but other than the aforementioned Shiva I can't think of anything I usually skip out of the middle of an album. (Of course Shiva wasn't on the vinyl version of The Nephilim, so there's that.)

Oh wait. Torch on Floodland. But again that could be seen as a "bonus" track.

I forgot about SGWBM:

Phantom, Adrenchrome, Lights, Burn, Kiss The Carpet (Reprise), Watch and Home of The Hitmen (if I get time to press skip before it's over)

Yeah Phantom.

But what sort of Sisters fan are you if you skip Adrenochrome or Lights? :P

I think the only Sisters track I skip is Long Train.
It just misses something that Train has.

You guys skip some of my favourtie tracks of a lot of albums... :urff:

But hey, taste is taste, I just don't see how anyone can hear JAMC Darklands and skip Nine Million Rainy Days... Best song on the album...

I tend to skip entire albuns, I've been avoiding The Cure's Wish all my life :innocent:

As to The Sisters:

When You Don't See Me is the only one to skip for me ...

although Detonation Boulevard did apply time and again for that big woolen sock ...

but I endured patiently and nowadays it's become way better than the original ... ...

Skips on Bowie releases:

Station To Station - Word On A Wing ... yeah, we know it, we.know.it. ... *sigh

Black Tie White Noise - I Feel Free, I Know It's Gonna Happen .... fine, thanks, but hell ... noooo ...

Reality - She'll Drive A Big Car ... ok, I accept the necessity of the existence of such produce but ... spare me, please ...
