MR numbered postcard - what's yours?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I don't know about that particular postcard, but I was member number six. (Insert Prisoner joke here, I know...) Sadly I no longer have documentary proof (got the UTRs, don't got the envelopes that had the member number on).

Number five was a friend of mine, but I don't know who 1-4 were.

Mine was #3544.

I was also mentioned in UTR 7 as a lucky winner of a poll... :)

Mine's #6164.

Unfortunately, it's showing signs of wear, and has a bit of tape stuck to it from when I'd had it up on my uni dorm wall. I probably ought to take a little better care of it, eh? ;D

Um... I don't remember ever being "thanked for my patience" - were you?!

no, never

Next thing I got from the Reptile House was a Flyer were all the stuff that the RH was selling at that time were listed with pictures and everything was written in german. Also the Membership with the UTR was advertised.

But I joined about 1 year later with UTR 5. But at that time it was possible to order all the old issues except UTR 1.

First I got from them was back in 1988, the "Merciful Information" with a short History and Discography. There was also my name handwritten and at the end a "More soon " and "Kaz" (The "more soon" came about 2 years later as the mentioned numbered postcard!!)

Someone knows who could be this "Kaz"??

yup, exactly !!

Just recognized that most of the UTRs are available as a scan! Wow!

I also can contribute the other UTRs as a scan, if wanted. I remember that there was also a german issue, anyone for this one?

Btw, the UTRs helped me really to keep my level in english language at that time! There were no Internet, and I was working as plumber. If there wasn't the UTR (and later Dominion) I wouldn't kept my level in english, what helps me nowadays a lot in my Job!

Am I right that these days Reptile House can offer only UTR 7 and 12? At least they didn't sell any more issues in Berlin last year.

I dont want to blow my own trumpet or anything (If I could I would be on the stage  )

These are scans of the information I was also sent in 1988, I dont have any idea who "Kaz" is / was - perhaps she/he ran "merciful release" or something?
