Question over dates....

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. Is it just me or has anybody noticed the release dates for Floodland and Vision Thing being the same? I.E being the 13th of November via Wikipedia. Does this date hold some relevance?... Or should I just go back to my beer...

No more ridiculous than some of the other numerological nonsense on here earlier this year. I'm with @Surekill on this one. Will book 13th November off work in anticipation of the release of the surprise (a la Bowie) new album.

It might have been significant in the early 90's, but it isn't now. Too many 13th of November have passed without the 4th Sisters album...

The other wiki gives the November date. Probably a typo or cut and paste error.

I just remember that i bought VT around 25 or 26 of October before the holiday of 28th of October and spend 3 days listening to it many many times. I remember also the store which is now long gone and my friends that were with me that day at the store and went for coffee after that ;D

Seconded. The Ultimatesistersguide and discogs do give 22 October 1990 as well.

Lovely ... :D ... apart from FALAA, I bought all the other albums successively in 1993,
because I had lost sight of developments somehow (widely surrounded with Dalaras, Tsitsanis and more such stuff for a few years) ... :lol: ...

So Floodland, Vision Thing, Gift, Some Girls coming to me within a few months... hah, that was quite a journey ... :eek: ;D :lol: ...

If those dates are correct then they're not the UK release dates.

I bought both albums on the day of release. Floodland on 16.11.87 & Vision Thing on 22.10.90, both mondays which was the day albums were usually released unless it was a bank holiday.

Good point. For years all UK record releases (singles and albums) were on Mondays to maximise their chances of appearing in the chart, which was compiled on a Sunday and ran from the previous Monday.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.
