Happy Birthday to a Very Nice Manâ„¢

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Thanks very much boys and girls - and those as yet undecided. :von:

Special thanks to Mark "I'm not very good at keeping in touch with people" Fiend for starting the thread.

Bine just reminded me that in seven days I'm now coming up to the anniversary of my Seven-Year Reich. Gotta love those lucky 7's.

Is it hard for a Brit to become accepted/established in Germany and find work?

Fucking hard. Seriously fucking hard.

So I went native. Which was the best thing I ever did.

Made a concentrated effort to learn the language and then found people responding to me. Even with my early broken-German.

Maybe because I was an Ausländer making the effort?

There's lots of stereotypes about Germans - and some of them are true - but they're probably the warmest bunch of folks I've ever met.

A German friend is not just for Christmas; they're for life. It just takes six months to get there.

Sorry to ramble on, but it's a been a long time since I visited these shores.

Love, as always, to you all.

PS: @ GayDon - Lemme know if you start a HL FPL League as I'd love to come along and win it.

Yes, my name is John and I'm a FF Anorak. :innocent:

And a very belated one from me! :D

I'll never forget walking into a bog in a venue in Leeds and finding you on the floor with your head split open.
