The Sisters Of Mercy Skytrax Interview

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I know there's a shorter version of this interview already on the internet, so I thought why not post the longer version, watch it below friends:

Left on m*****n and Revenge... Was it ever anymore than a title to hint at the m*****n ongoing plagarism of all things sisters? Presumably, if such an album did exist what had they got beyond Torch (See ya Craig) and Garden of Delight (see ya Wayne)?

Possibly this, I guess:

(the untitled instrumental from the Floodland demos. The composition is a bit like "Torch", and also "Bury Me Deep" which Von did earlier. Of course it could have been written for Floodland but it does sound more like Torch and all that earlier stuff.)

title was around in 1984 i.e. before the break up it's been a while but i think 'spirits' and at least another new 'track' were lined up for 'm*****n' . TC was the first brand new sisters track, Mar 1986, and was kept back from Gift as it was too good

I recall Gary Marx saying on the Ghost Dance forum that "Spirits" was just a tune with which they'd goof off during soundchecks, never meant to be a real song until he reworked it into "A Deeper Blue".

"This Corrosion" certainly was more outright poppy than the rest of Gift.
