Our Timmy @Manc goffix fest

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I assume you just accidentally stumbled across the page, @Pista. Seems a bit weird having a Centre for Gothic Studies in Manchester though. What next, a Faculty of Baggy at Leeds ?

It was in a tweet as it goes.
Seems a bit weird having a centre for gothic studies anywhere really.
I wasn't sure if it was a joke at first.
Cheers.

Thanks for the media spot. 8)

Hope it's clear this doesn't JUST focus on a daft musical subculture from the Eighties that has yet to die a death!

Seems like there are two other unis offering similar courses in Wales and London. How long before one of the three is brave enough to offer a module on gothic music too ?

I swiped a handful of freebie stuff - got a bag and a pen too!

Here's my write-up on it for the interested parties.

Really enjoyed that summary, thanks @Tim. Hopefully more of the kind of stuff they were lecturing on will end up in the course one day. Will put the distance-learning option for the M.A. on my Bucket List for when I retire ...
