Gibson Thunderbird or Fender American Standard

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Hi guys,

i've been wandering for quite a while which one i should buy. Both seems pretty good option,i would really like some nice sustain and crispier sound-some say the gibson axe is a bit muddy but i am not so sure.

Anyone who probably has one of these(or both) and could give me some input about those two would be greatly appreciated.

What you've been hearing about the Thunderbird agrees with my own experience. They can be pretty muddy, although they look somewhat cool. If you want sustain and a crisp sound, I'd go for the Fender; they're versatile, reliable, and very flexible. Additionally, on an aesthetic level, I'd say that while the Thunderbird is kind of cool looking, the Fender is classy, and fits in anywhere.

Thunderbird, if we're talking bass

I was always of the school of thought that how a guitar looks is number one priority. How it sounds is way down the list ;D

at the begginig i was from the same school as you Mark, now it's changed

Well if you're for sound damagedone, then go for sound. Gibsons are a bit more muddy, dirty in sound. if you want crispy and coold (cold) sound go for Fender Telecaster.
but first go and test guitars in store. (that's obvious advice.)

thanx for the tips, guys.Yeah,i really like that shark shape of the Gibson buut as mentioned before i better try'em both as soon as the damn overtime on the current project ends.I also consider Schacter-never heard of these before but they seem to be quite well made.Recently playing with an old and beaten Hohner i would really like an upgrade. In case someone is really bored you can listen to a kind of demo since haven't had time to finish it.
