Now that is a WOW!
I listen to more JR than Mr.E these days and I'm fortunate enough to have witnessed a 4080 Peru performance.

Is this a live performance or just the film ?
The soundtrack I've heard is just an ambient yawn fest a million miles removed from his earlier brilliance.

He was up onstage then at the bar next to me when I saw it.

Late to the party again, but I'm glad someone else said this. I listened to the 4 downloadable 4080 Peru tracks on James Ray's website and quite simply don't get it. Yawnfest doesn't even begin to cover it. Have I missed something or is there something that is supposed to make these 57-bleeding-minute long pieces approach relevance?!?Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:Is this a live performance or just the film ?

Played the Dios Esta album on the way to work this morning and was reminded of just how much I love what the Gangwar and Performance used to do.
What happened?

These tracks here @4080peru ? The video seems to be on YouTube, clearly not a piece for fast consumption ...Mothra wrote: ... I listened to the 4 downloadable 4080 Peru tracks on James Ray's website ...
Oh yeah. All that stuff is fortunately still (or again, rather) available at James Ray's Official Site... plus all the MK Ultra and Longfolk stuff ... ...Mothra wrote: Played the Dios Esta album on the way to work this morning and was reminded of just how much I love what the Gangwar and Performance used to do.

Manhattan Smile and Justice for Judass are epic, unlike Mr.E Eric still has it.

He does and at least he is still active creatively unlike Baldy with his non-singing and fed up guitarists. Even his MacBook worker has pissed off.

Thanks. Those are indeed the 4080 MP3s I've got. I tried the film as well, and again, simply don't get it.Being645 wrote:These tracks here @4080peru ? What are the Manhatten Smile and Justice for Judass tracks James Blast refers to? If they are the same "not the good Eno"(!) style I'll pass. If they are epic in the Rev Rev Lowrider sense count me in.
Will give that piece on the JR website (where I got the majority of his music from, although found a bunch of the old EPs for £3 a pop in Edinburgh recently) a read later on (entirely off topic, but wife gave birth to our first baby yesterday, so Heartland access even more sporadic than usual).

They're excellent, that's all you need to know.
