Never played?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

That might be why they only played it twice. Here it is; I think this is much groovier than the studio version.

Indeed, also, bonus for the first link, that also includes few notes and a chord played before the song.

What bootleg is this version on? I'd never heard it until now, and while I'm not usually that bothered about collecting every possible version of every Sisters song, I would be interested in getting hold of this

Disguised In Black, Newcastle '85. The whole bootleg is pretty fab.

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Is there a list of songs the sisters never played live?

I'd try to think it all up, just in my sleep deprived state I can only think of
1) Black planet
2) bury me deep (To my knowledge)

Thanks!

Also, is there any known or interpreted reason behind not playing black planet? That would have fit in well with the Wake setlist.

:?
On topic 8)

Now with the upcoming tour and songs like Come together, We are the same Susanne, War on Drugs, Summer almost 20 years old...It is really time to shuffle the 2014 tour setlist! Well, one can dream..

But really, what do you think? Is it time for something else or are we really just happy reliving the past and just having a blast with the Sisters? Do we dare ask more...?? I really would like to hear your thoughts. Are we fed up with the current set list, the smoke, the not so great performances, the high prices...and do you as Heartlander want any of these songs? Do we have anything to say? (Ofcourse not! :P )

These songs were never played live(as far as I know), so time to dust 'm off.

- Driver (re done for this years favour, they can even call the tour "The Sisters of Mercy;Fear & Fuel 2014
- Wide receiver (just for the hell..)
- Adrenochrome (played live but hey..)
- Poison Door
- Afterhours (only as intro but never played fully, or am I wrong?)
- Bury me deep
- Black planet
- 1959
- Driven like the snow
- Colours
- Torch
- You could be the one

12 songs to mix & match! Throw in some faves, weird covers and hey presto.. 2014 tour never to be forgotten. Throw in a live cd and we are insanely happy.. Wink

Driver and Wide Receiver were never really finished songs per se, I can't see either of them being revived after this long, unless they get reworked into completely new songs (Yeah )

IIRC Eldritch claims to have "forgotten the words" to Adrenochrome.

Poison Door is Gary's song. Eldritch never seems keen on singing the compositions of his (former) bandmates.

The others are all at least vaguely possible, although some seem more likely to make an appearance than others.

My guess: there will be one mildly ironic, slightly entertaining new cover. And still no Far Parade.

Yeah I know Driver is a demo.Still,Belgium gets treated to Good Things, another cool demo. This is a lot of wishing for but I have been listening to old gigs and than the sudden suprise of say Blood Money, Burn (that 90 ies version with great intro, the strange covers (he's got the whole world, confide in me) compared to the same old setlist the past years. Than again,Rain from heaven didn't see that one coming. :)
So..I haven't got a ticket yet but who knows...

Agreed, although I wouldn't put it past him to introduce a song with something like "Here we go... into the far parade" and then do a completely bloody different song!

Looks good to me. How about a Fantasy Football style prediction competition. What will be the first twenty songs played at the C-Halle at the first gig of the tour ? List the songs in order they will be played, in four sections of five songs. One point scored if a song is played, two points if you get the right quarter of the set for it too. New songs can be included as above i.e. New Cover or New Original. Person with the biggest number of points wins.
