Currently Listening To: Experimental Noises

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Cynic's "Re-Traced" and the new "Kindly Bent To Free Us" have arrived on vinyl!
Man, what a record and that artwork! :notworthy:

Progrock/metal with that spacey edge, so sublime! And they come to the Belgian Graspop fest in the summer! :))

It's certainly listenable. Reminds me a bit of Tool actually. :)

Indeed, tho Cynic is more on the metal-y side of the spectrum, where Tool were neve really metal-heavy, only rock-heavy :)

In the early days Cynic dropped a bomb in metal-land through their debut 'Focus', combining technical death metal with jazz influence and a vocoder for the main vocals. Totally unheard of, I loved it from the first note!
