Last Sisters bootleg

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

they have plenty of new songs, just none heard them.
i know what he's talking about. last Friday i had almost done idea for songs, guitar on loop, with additional guitar line, very simple drums, even lyrics, with vox line. idea popped up in my head while i was taking morning shower. but i forgot to wrote it down, so it's probably gone for good.

I see Chris was trotting out the old "I do a lot of writing for the Sisters" canard in that Uberrock interview @Being posted a link to on the EM thread. That'll be a couple of songs in nearly eight years, i.e. more than the time it's taken to put out the first three EM albums !

I finally accepted there will never be another Sisters release

I think most fans have accepted this with the passage of time, although there are still the (deluded ?) few who think he'll take (another) leaf out of Bowie's book and treat us all to a surprise release. Although :von: seems to have no problem fobbing off the paying public with substandard sound 'live', it seems that in the studio only perfection will do ...

I cannot imagine any scenario where :von: would even believe he has to release anything. As I said before, I have not heard anything post 2006, but I do get the impression that I have not missed anything

truth to be told, :von: said few times (?), at least one, that he doesn't feel any need to release anything. so it's a small retirement found, nothing more. as long strange people are willing to go to their gig or invite them to play at festivals, this circus will hit a road.

That is very sad. Still, I have been stuck on the Sisters up to and including the Royal Albert Hall show so nothing new really is not a problem. Sure I like Floodland and Vision Thing, but not a patch on FALAA IMHO

If you've not heard "Arms" it's worth seeking out on YT. A big classic Floodland riff with VT style production. As for :von: 's intentions, he did talking about releasing some of the new stuff in the 2010 Classic Rock interview, and has been back-pedalling in every interview since...

That will be because I got my source wrong. In CR he said he wouldn't release anything, then in the press conference at the ARTmania festival in Romania (see Reviews and Interviews for the link) he did talk about releasing stuff ( and we all got very excited for all of five minutes). Typical Taylor, as you say.

While searching for Arms on youtube I did come across several songs with good sound, so there must be some good bootlegs out there post 2006 :?:

Leamington, Lokeren, M'era Luna 2010.
Paris, Helsinki, Stockholm, London 2011 (the latter comes on a nice video bootleg titled "Turning Round At The Roundhouse").
Amphi 2012 is pretty good as well, they kill it with female vox on Dominion and Temple.

I think I have all of the above should the links in the sharing section be dead. Dublin and Nova Rock appear to have been a really good time in 2011 but no recordings have surfaced aside from fragments on youtube. The same goes for the 2012 Australian shows.

Speaking of "Arms", the Roundhouse saw a groovy rendition even if the audio here isn't the best.
Also good is "Gift That Shines", the Red Lorry Yellow Lorry cover they added to the setlist for the 30th anniversary gigs.

As for the other thing, it's like someone once said:

"I know, for I told me so,
And I'm sure each of you quite agrees:
The more it stays the same, the less it changes!
And that's The Majesty Of Rock.

I did think it sounded familiar but to these old ears most things sound kinda fuzzy

I can see the Millennium similarity, but Arms has always reminded me of Flood II as well for some reason.

with much respect to lazyboy who has put up some really good stuff

this is my personal favorite show I was at in 'recent' times

for good things and capricorn

in terms of last bootlegs, the trader section shows old stuff is emerging in delux LP format all the time, whilst digital transfer has pretty much killed the 'bootleg trade' and therefore quality control systems. me I'm meh about the sisters but have tonnes of shows gifted to me, i've never even listened to... often times, many sources - for example Leeds b'day party, i have six .. i've listened to one

Yep, PiB is right: Suikerrock 2008 is one to have! great sound, good setlist and the band well into it. Audience was of course briliant ;D

Dr Jeff, I'm still pro weeding, so if you need a copy of this, let me know and I do the old school thing and post the fekker
Maybe a recording of Lokeren 2010 also, because of Rain From Heaven...

I forgot about this! Here you go.

http://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic. ... t=helsinki (go to the end of the thread)
http://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic. ... roundhouse (you gotta use a .torrent client for this, ask for help if needed)
Paris 2011 is actually on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeF7BZhJsgE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6fDNsO8OZM (a couple of songs are missing from the end but you can probably find other recordings)

I can't seem to find a working link to M'era Luna but I've got the file if you still want it.
