FALAA Australian vinyl

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Just recently discussing TSOM with an Aussie mate, who has some of the old records - including FALAA with a regular white WEA inner label on the vinyl. Now I'm used to seeing Sisters records on Merciful Release, so was surprised. Did TSOM Australian releases get put out with just the regular WEA label? Has the WEA logo in colour on top.

It is an official WEA release.

You find a list of all releases (not yet in the Wiki) on discogs ...

It were cool, if you could arrange for some pictures of the labels ... ...

I've no doubt it's an official product, I was just surprised that it wasn't a Merciful release style graphics label. Looks like it could be anything on WEA.

Sorry, but I only saw it for a minute, so no piccys. Anyone else (or the internewt) got pics of a label like this for an official TSOM record?

I have the Brazilian Release of FALAA.
Well, far i can remember, there's a Merciful Release Logo below 'Some Kind of Stranger' at the album's back, and the WEA logo at the left.

Anyway, if you see it again, take a picture, i would love to see.

Noticeably different? Or just Sisters-obsessives notice it? I don't know that we would have sat round like fanboy schoolkids listening to it anyway, even if I'd have known that snippet of info...

If the mix is as different as the label was (to a regular black MR one) then I really would've like to hear it.

Yes - that's the one.

Is is just me, or does that just NOT LOOK RIGHT? If I saw that without the sleeve, I'd think it was some sort of pop nonsense and not give a second glance. The look of the (proper, MR) label at least gives you a hint of what you're about to encounter.

Ah, you mean the center of the LP?
Well, in this case, it's EXACTLY the same thing of the Brazilian LP.

and the American right up to, I think, Lucretia

on reflection, it might be the Canadian edition which is a different mix of marian

Absolutely seconded ... Sisters releases without MR labels, Sisters run-outs and black inner sleeve (at least) lack the right aesthetics ...
Those WEA labels look like kindergarten ... :urff:  ...

The Canadian Marian is shorter than normal, correct? Do you know if the shorter run time is stated on the label?
