Chris Sheehan/Starling - Stage 4 skin cancer - fundraiser

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

that was my thought. after all this could be a small (financial) support for him and his family. even bloody bandcamp would be good.

I really hope it will be enough to make his dream of an album come true...
it's such a sad thing with his illness and I hope the best for him and his family.

UPDATE
Chris Sheehan wrote:Now have all the stuff needed to make an album although Coldplay would turn in their grave at the idea! I would like to do a minimum run of hardcover booklets and buy a Canon 5D to make a film and take photos (about 2800 €), a Canon 5D does both. Again, thank you for supporting the purchase of the recording kit. If you have donated please don´t donate again, you have already sponsored the time it will take to make the album. All my music is available for free, it´s my time that your donations free up. Like an old fashioned honesty box, if you like a song donate towards it´s existence and the existence of new ones. Yes that´s my head, tumour free yay!

There's a Chris Sheehan fundraiser in Auckland on Hallowe'en featuring his pre-Sisters band, the Exponents (big cheesy Kiwi pub rock outfit). I remember Von talking to Kiwi radio before their gig here saying "yes, we had an NZ guitarist, but he left to pursue other interests... heroin."

Chris has to swap from his clinical trial drugs to a new (very impressive) drug but have extreme anxiety, works amazing for some not for others so could buy him years or be the start of the end. Been a whole week of hospital trips for us both. Brings it all to the front again and makes EVERYTHING feel irrelevant, trivial and pointless
