Heartland - my favourite Sisters track (of many) so very apt to be here. I read that it was courteous to introduce myself first. So here I am.
I lived in Leeds in the early 80's and after listening to a very poor quality bootleg in 1982 the Sisters became my favourite band and have been ever since. I must confess that I'm not that taken with the post Floodland material. And if I'm really honest my favourite stuff is pre 1985. To me the Sisters after 1987 is a different band. I've always loved Eldritch though.
So there it is, I'm hoping to have some fun, share some stories and possibly some recordings. I'm trying (and failing) to get a complete set of 1980 to 1985 live bootlegs. That might take me all my life!!!

I for one am disappointed - I was hoping that this one would be able to sort me out with a new bathroom.Pista wrote:At last.

Depends on who you're walking in on, dunnit? (And whether they look good in ribbons, one assumes)James Blast wrote:thoughts on walk-in showers pls?

Bathrooms and kitchens no. Dodgy tarmac drives? Now you're talking. Walk in showers - great if like me you're too lazy to even open a door - the lower shower tray helps with a hangover as well.
Thanks for the good wishes. I'm hoping I might have a bootleg or two that some people haven't got, like Marx's last gig. But looking around I somehow doubt that!

Pros:
1) Ease of cleaning (the wife does it)
2) Suits the lazy person in all of us
3) Nothing to stub your toe on
4) Bigger shower tray, twice the size - handy for urinating on and not getting your feet yellow
5) Hangover friendly. If need be you can lie down and adopt the fetal position
6) You can stretch out your arms with your sword stick and pretend you are in the Dominion video
7) You can fit three of four girls in as well
You can put a plastic chair in the cubicle whilst showering. Handy if you have a hangover (see point 5)
Cons:
1) There is one more step to the shower head.
2) er

Thanks again all. Nikolas - I think it was the May 82 gig at Leeds Warehouse. That would certainly make sense with the guys I was hanging around with at the time. But I never got my hands on the tape so I can't be certain.

And no I'm not Belgian. I'm not that sick. ;o)
I've lived all over the UK but I'd say now that I'm from Stoke-on-Trent. The band that I was in was never as good as The Sisters but, I'm pretty certain that I was a better drummer than AE. I'm glad he took up singing. That deep baritone and those fantastic lyrics on those records - helped me with the ladies on more than one occasion

Good evening Eldritch and welcome to the forum. I've been new to this site since I got here - I know what you mean about that post Floodlands stuff. Vision Thing kind of lacks imagination in the guitar dept but I think that rock bombast is a good dimension - bit like the difference between the subtleties of Mary Chains Darklands compared to the Suicide like meat of (Mary Chains) Automatic. All good stuff but completely different flavours. Anyway - my lack of communication here at the forum don't leave me feeling enough of a 'Heartlander' to say 'Welcome' but there we go - welcome brother.
