Blood Money 2014

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

So, anyone got a recording of it? Can't seem to see any youtube clips of that particular track.

You know it's time to call it a day when you think it's cool to wear a sports jacket on stage, ffs

What should a 55-year-old wear to look cool on stage then, a leather vest with nothing underneath? :P

I think it's a welcome change from the St Pauli hoodie (which he has worn more or less constantly the last 8 years) and the ugly neon shirt.

 ... seconded, i.e. say nothing against that lovely yellow shirt !
Compared to Von's stage wear for other tours it was elegant.

As to Blood Money, the sound is good and the dynamics work. I like especially the end. And Chris' backgrounds are also a good addition. Von seems a little to low in the mix. For sure, it's not easy singing it at the original low level of the 80s, I wonder whether that is necessary to make the song work ... no need trying to copy one's former self in too much detail while impressing alternatives are at hand ... but sorry, it's not my business ... ...

Mumble mumble mumble. Doesn't do anything to make me reconsider going to see them.
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

have you ever been on ANY different gigs/concerts other than The Sisters? I mean, it not bad, but calling this dynamics it's exaggeration.

A hoodie or t-shirt wouldn't be as bad I guess but the sports jacket...he looks like the 'strange uncle' you get at family weddings, the one parents anxiously tell their kids not to talk to. But hey, his voice is so bad now (no matter how much reverb he tries to bury it in), I guess he might as well look bad too.

@ hellboy69 - Don't put ideas into his head, he might be saving the 'Alan' look for the UK shows.

I watched some of the recordings from this tour on youtube and Von's voice is totally shot.. even 'simple' tracks like Kiss the Carpet and Valentine

No point in blaming the sound guys... and it's no wonder his voice is low in the mix. He makes Ian Brown sound like decent singer !!

It's just a money grab now and a bad one at that

Was going to go to Belfast but not after hearing that

C'mon man - get autotune and record some music

Yeah I would agree, from the youtube vids I've seen, :von:'s voice has totally gone.

I think Kiss and Valentine from Linz are way above average what he has been singing since Ben&Chris joined the band.

Clearly the Voice is "gone", but that happened a long ,long time ago. 15 years or something, not the last tours.

It's been rendered civilized.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Nah, it's in the Prague thread in Sisters 2014.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
