I have slept with all the girls in Berlin - subtext?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Sorry if this was already covered...

Is this song a kiss-and-tell about Ms. Nunn?

Well, it's not entirely unknown for an artist to write a song that referenced a former partner. And given The Short One's penchant for wordplay would you put it past him to write a song that appeared to be about one thing but was actually about something else? We know that he's had a bit of a crush on some former collaborators (Ms Haza, Ms Amos), and Ms Nunn is easy on the eyes - perhaps he was rebuffed and decided that he'd have some fun at her expense?

Put it this way - if I were short and bald, and the front man for a popular beat combo, and a journalist asked me, "So, you've collaborated with some very attractive women in the past - if it's not too personal, can I ask if your relationships with them have only been in the studio?" I'd be tempted to answer, "Well, Klaus - you know a gentleman doesn't kiss and tell. But let's put it this way - I've slept with all the girls in Berlin..." and leave it hanging, conclusions to be drawn without substance.

if a may interrupt and ask: when he collaborated with Tori A.?

and you forgot that this "short and bald" is a quite smart, with cheek in tongue, well-read guy, who, at least when he's talking to press, can be see as self-confident, and that can be a bit attractive to females. at least that's what Cosmo says what females like in men.

Ok, full disclosure: I don't know if he actively collaborated with Ms. Amos. perhaps they were just in the same place. But they were friendly enough to pose for the paps:

Legend has it that she was going to ask him to produce her 2nd album but that didn't come to pass.

It's exactly his intelligence that would lead him to use the linguistic two-step to do/say something like this. Although I'm not sure that we should be taking Cosmo's pronouncements as gospel.

It's clearly about hospital bedsheets.

An alternative thought occurs - a Berliner is another name for a jam doughnut.

So this could be a song about Patricia...

Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

I hadn't even seen that photo with Tori before.

Although I admit I had seen Von wearing a harrington.

You wouldn't want to share a bench with a woman who has hands almost as long as your arm Boss.
