UKIP

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Well I suppose we ought to offer them a platform, as I've been spamming that hundred reasons not to vote for UKIP everywhere. Does anyone want to try to persuade me to vote for them?

Dreamt last night that I'd somehow ended up voting for them in a moment of tactical confusion that it might keep them out. Always worried I've ticked the wrong box when I come out of the polling booth, but never that badly wrong to date.

Rewatching the World at War (classic history of WW2 from a time when ITV made good programmes - narrated by Laurence Olivier!) and figuring UKIP are more dangerous than they seem...They objected to one of my projects which made me very proud!

The voting paper in my area has about seven far-right/nationalist/neo-nazi parties on it, including UKIP, the BNP, and various python-esque splitters.

An no, I won't be voting for any of those parties.

I don't even live in the UK but I'd still say "no".

There's lots of things to be concerned about with the EU, but this isn't the answer and they're just playing on legitimate concern in order to try get their real agenda in the door. Surely even the most hopelessly naive can see that?

I shouldn't have thought that true red-blooded Englishmen should need to look too far for reasons to vote for UKIP. Unless, of course, you want to hand Britannia's trident to a bunch of sausage-normalising Eurocrats who seem hell-bent intent on turning the British Bulldog into a French Poodle, that is. It seems that a lot of people around here have short memories - did the lessons of Waterloo, Agincourt, and Trafalgar have so little impact that we will gladly go down the primrose path again? That Britain's highest military honour is crafted from the bronze of Russian guns should give you an indication of the perfidious nature of those beyond these shores, and the regard in which they should be held.

Can you honestly say that we would not be better off turning our gaze inwards, addressing the myriad issues and concerns that afflict the citizens of these islands - homelessness, youth unemployment, huge sections of our communities devolving into de facto ghettos and police no-go areas populated by people who refuse to speak English and who view those qualities which are uniquely British - fair play, honesty, regard for the rule of law - as anachronistic, and who seem intent on turning this green and pleasant land into a replica of whichever benighted and slum-ridden -stan they came from. Is it too much to ask that, having been offered sanctuary in this new Jerusalem, that they should adopt the habits and practices of this proud Island race? Otherwise, why did they come, if it wasn't to rape our National Health Service and get a free ride on the back of hard-working English men and women through welfare handouts?

No, I don't see that one should need too much encouragement to vote UKIP - the question is, of course, why you wouldn't vote for them. It seems quite clear that the "traditional" political parties have little regard for Britain and the Britons, preferring instead to pander to the whims of Brussels or Washington. After the last war our forefathers were promised a land fit for for heroes - it seems now that anyone who stands up for his country is mocked and ridiculed, that displaying our national flag invites scorn and accusations of being "nationalist". You know, time was when this country knew a thing or two about national pride - when our navy was the envy of the civilised world, when a man could traverse the globe without ever being in a country where his language was not spoken or his law respected. And I for one look forward to the day where Britons can once again walk down the street with their heads held high, to look any man in the eye, where our children can play in safety without fear of being the victims of random acts of violence perpetrated by those whose quarrels stem from an incident in some foreign land, where the elderly can receive the finest care available from a healthcare system that is not overburdened by those who have never contributed to it. Where you can walk the highstreet of any town or city and hear English spoken everywhere, where you are not assailed by the cacophony of a thousand foreign tongues, where post offices and paper shops have reclaimed the territory from kebab houses and halal butchers.

Mark, first reason to vote for UKIP: Lord Monckton. One of the few people to tell the truth about man-made global warming, and a hell of a smart man.

i don't know what the alleged secret 'real agenda' of UKIP would be, but i challenge anyone to show me it's WORSE than the real agenda of any other party on the platform.

And if anyone wants to mention the dreaded word racism, let me remind you that it's apparently RACIST now to oppose the rather openly Marxist policies of Barry Sortero, Obama for most. No, people aren't against his policies but harbour a deep-seated hatred against black people! So much for the racism bait, as far as i'm concerned. And if you oppose the lovely Hillary Clinton, you are of course a misogynist!
And of course, support for a party running on legitimate feelings of nationalism is, as it is against globalism, RACIST. Haha! Lovely PSYOP.

For the slow of thinking, racism thus shows itself to be a bait without substance. But people have an emotional reaction for it and the tactic works. Claim of racism for any opposition of Marxist-globalism is a great tool to destroy cultures and nations.

But, i don't vote because the real agenda isn't played on the political level. Ask Maggie Thatcher about that, or her good pal, Gorbatshev.

UKIP are party with racist policies, a lot of racist members/politicians (MEPs and Councillors), some of whom sport racist tattoos, and many of whom make racist comments.

Love the Nick Robinson interview asking Farage about employing his German wife. Those who seek to scapegoat always find their arguments crumble when faced with concrete examples. Always thought my fellow Brits were more tolerant than a worryingly large minority currently appear. All the more reason for us all to vote on Thursday.

Are you telling me minorities shouldn't have rights if you don't like them, even if they're 'worryingly large'? Are you telling me you want to force your point of view on a 'worryingly large minority'?

i'm afraid of sheeple forcing their ignorant views on me.

Not at all. Just remarking that in times of economic crisis, there's a (worrying, from my liberal standpoint) tendency to look for someone to blame. UKIP are tapping into and exploiting that human weakness IMHO, and I would expect most voters to see through what appears to be shallow rhetoric.

This depends on how you define the word "rights". What kind of "rights" are you talking about here?

Ok - i admit i know about them mostly through Farage and Lord Monckton, but perhaps the party needs to try to talk more traditional political talk trying to appeal to a larger segment?

And in every country nationalist parties do attract also the genuinely racist types but that doesn't in my view discredit their legitimacy, nor does it make all they say mere rhetoric.

i don't think Lord Monkton is racist, nor would he support any racist policies.

EDIT: But: there's no doubt immigrants are being used to wreck the economy - i'm afraid that's not just human weakness to look for someone to blame, it's a real political strategy. And it's a fact too, there's a lot of immigrants who go to UK with the intention of extracting every penny they can. It's not racism to oppose that policy - though the policy might turn some people into some form of 'racism' - not perhaps surprisingly.
