Far Parade

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Sorry I'm so out of the loop, but I didn't find an answer to this question after a brief search.

Has Far Parade ever been performed? Or is it totally unheard still?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Trevor

Never played at a gig, maybe the hired hands has heard it, not sure..
...I’ve never had the desire to make a record unless I have something to say...

Chris Catalyst said somewhere that they have done rehearsals in this one, but haven't played it yet in gig.

He also said it was one of his favourites to play (but that might be because it's one he hasn't played three thousand times yet).

Just read a new French interview (done in the run up to Esch) where :von: says : "We're always playing new songs live. We've recently (sic) written one called Far Parade, which we're certain is one of our best yet. In fact, we're going to play it 'live' soon !"

  The latest round of rock's equivalent of Mornington Crescent.

There should be a serious discussion about the real meaning of the word "soon".

And word "recently". English is not my native language, but still ....

I fear that it can be interpreted as liberally as the word "recently" in the same quote ...

Hasn't Von already said pretty much all of that before? I'm sure it was 'recently'.

There's some stuff about it in this thread: https://www.myheartland.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=24151

I am not holding my breath.
