Fantasy Football - World Cup Brazil 2014

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Just revamped my entire squad and am going on the management sub route, aka the hokey cokey. God help me.

As the clock winds down to lock-out, can I just say:

This WC FF league wouldn't exist without your participation.

Yes, that's YOU!

Despite my expectations at the start of this thread, I thought we'd end up with six or seven. 15 is a phenomenal number.

You're all fucking superstars. Everyone of you.:notworthy:

Thank you for making this happen.

And may the best HLer win! :D

Good luck all! :von:

hmmm. no croations and only one brazillian in my team, and he didn't play last night. typical.

a couple of spanish definites playing today -but that's it.

on the plus side i just saw who else is in englands group (uraguay and italy before we even think about getting giant-killered by costa rica) and i think we're on the first plane home. i may be patriotic but i get far more amusement when england lose, seeing the devastated faces of the fans who think that "this time...(more than any other time).." etc..

I couldn't see a total anywhere. I could only see the team line up and the individual scores. I only had David Luiz from last night - he got 7 points.

Ah.
Gotcha.
I had Alves as captain & he got 10 points.
Not bad considering I played him out of position
Cheers.

After game A: Brazil vs Croatia, I have 10 points;

Vedran CORLUKA 6 Points
FRED (despite falling over unnecessarilly) 4 Pts

I'd expected less for the whole round

39 from 2 here.

Neymar(c) 26, Oscar 13.

3 players in action tonight.

They're keeping it lo-fi. And cheap. No need to invest in other bells and whistles. Hence the management subs and no save button. The 11 on your pitch at the end of each round is your final round score, so that does make management subs a viable option to maximise your team's score.

So if he's got zero points, substitute him for someone who still has a game to play in round 1. It's not rocket science.

Subs made. Neither of my brazilians scored anything, and most of my players come in later.

Or 5 in real terms. Is there anyone coming up to play, who might potentially outscore Dani Alves. Minus the -5 you'll lose?

This is the stick or twist bit I mentioned before.

One of the Ten Commandments in FF is never captain a defender.
FIFA web monkey wrote:You can also change the captain as long as the new captain hasn’t already started to play.
I'm sure you have players in your squad, still to play, who are slightly more attacking than Dani Alves. Who knows, they might even be attackers.

It's not rocket science #2.

of course with the police/drug-gang/civillian violence escalating perhaps beyond tear-gas and batons we might be looking at a bit of rocket science...RPG anybody?

If you have any Spanish defenders you might want to replace them with one of those bargain Iranians clogging up your bench ...

Yeppers.
Changed the armband for Suarez for this evening.
Can't really imagine Costa Rica beating Uruguay.

Just switched it off at 30 mins played. Decent game, but not worth the disrupted sleep pattern :urff:
