having stupidly ignored johnny's advice re. the phase1/phase2 overlap i have left myself without a goalkeeper for the last games of phase1. the website says "you must have 11 players on the pitch". how will this effect things for the last games of phase 1? :?:

Surely you must have at least one GK who can play out of the three? Otherwise I don't understand why McFIFA would let you sub the last one out when there's no one to sub in? :?

And as Lee mentioned, Phase 2 is now open, before Phase 1 has finished. So if you've any Brazilians or Mexicans in your squads, they need to be selected on Your Pitch before the game kicks off at 21:00 CET tonight.

Looks like I'm 13th of 17 now. No substitutions for me yet, looks like my "one good eleven" strategy might not be too hot.

all my goalkeepers have played their first phase fixtures. i was changing in the second phase tab (which it allowed me to do) but when i looked under the first phase tab i was a gk down, with none available and "you must have 11 players on the pitch" showing. i have one unlocked player (a forward) but it won't let me place him in goal either. :?

Is it a league table. Or just a list of people in the league?

I've got;
OVERALL
Points 71
Rank 272965

Is that more than or less than you?

I'm listed as 8th and you're 6th...

Ok, just been over to Nigel-land and other people are having serious problems, similar to yous. Not only in Phase 1, but Phase 2 as well.

I'm guessing, that the last GK you picked will be reinstated when the game updates at the end of Phase 1 to give you 11 on Your Pitch. But it doesn't help if it's blocking tonight's subs. :|

Having played these glitchy FIFA/UEFA (aka shite) FF games for many years, I can only offer one important piece of advice (from my original FF mentor) to you all.

Never log out. Use the stay logged in check box. Never get out of the game.

I've had no problems tonight in P1 or P2.

It's the FF equivalent of the never get outa the boat scene from Apocalypse Now. You just don't know what horrors await.

Never get outa the boat.

Never get outa the game.

Absolutely goddamn right. :von:

I'm afraid to change any of my squad to field a team of eleven players for a match in case I'm not allowed to pick them again for their next match.
So I left a frankly shoddy 11 on the field & "got out of the boat".

I guess that was a bad move.
Cheers.

I made some subs and am still s**t.
It was much easier back in the days when I ran the works league. Goals, assists, clean sheets and minutes points for goals against were all I had to worry about. Most of those points were given after reading match reports and watching MOTD!
We had an auction in the pub and only had 20 million...

ha ha... that takes me back

we used to auction in the pub, do transfers by fax and watch ceefax every Saturday from the pub, totting up goals and clean sheets and guessing assists until MOTD

i lost loads of points first round from not understanding the rules :? but i tihnk i have it now. now is the time to swap - put players in that are playing in the next 2 days, if they do s**t +Neymar+ then swap them out, for those yet to play.

the real difference is, counter intuitively, to put s**t goalies and defenders in, as they pick up lots of points blocking and making saves, but only -1 per goal conceded *

* I think?

the machine thinks i have 168 points from round 1

Oh my, there appears to be a live league table! :D

But, as I'm typing this and F4ing, your league positions and points totals are bouncing around all over the place. :?

Plus, it appears to a cumulative live league table. Which isn't a lot of help for an end of round P1 league table.

So let's go old skool alternative:

Can you all PM me your end of round P1 points score?

It's the number on your home page under 'Last Round' which should match the score on your P1 Your Pitch. Get the calculator out.

If there's a discrepancy in the numbers, send me whichever number makes you happiest.

I'm around for all the games tonight as it's a holiday here tomorrow, so the sooner the better. I'll then get the pen and paper out, calculate the end of round league table and post it here.

Why are you still reading? Get to PMs! :von:

Thanks in advance. :notworthy:

Absolutely spot on! It's the only strategy to use in Tournie based games. Maximise your squad's points scoring potential.

And I will apologise to everyone as I thought I'd already posted this tip. But after reading back, I hadn't. Entschuldigung.

Again spot on. The Nigels raised this as soon as the rules were published and everyone was planning to play 5-4-1. I think it's a balancing act as it's still, basically, a game about scoring goals.
paint it black wrote:But only -1 per goal conceded. I think?
The rules state -1pt for every 2 goals conceded but no player has been penalised yet. Greece conceded 3, Spain 5 etc. I've still got Ramos on 9pts when it should be 7pts. One day it will change.

After serious consultation with Bine, she likes the name "Sanchez" rather than "Neymar". The Alice band has been duly swapped. -7.

May God have mercy on my FF soul. :urff:
