Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

After the fun and banter of McFIFA, I was wondering whether FPL would be a viable option on HL. Whereas McFIFA is a sprint; FPL is a marathon.

I did some straw-polling behind the scenes and am very pleased that...

If you haven't already, head over to FPL and register/re-register as appropriate. We're playing the FREE game, not the UFPL pay-as-you-play game.

Once you've registered/re-registered, PM me with your team name and I'll give you the league code.

Note: Team names are not HL user names. They should sound like, um... football team names!

But I need 11 players, so have 2 places to fill. If you're interested in filling the vacancies, drop me a PM. I don't care if you're a novice or an expert. I just need your commitment. First come, first served.
markfiend wrote:Hang on John! 11 players sounds like a football team... are we playing someone?
Spot on Mark!

Our chums over in Fat Bob-land threw down the gauntlet, which I had no hesitation in picking up.

The 11 players from the Industrial Groove Machine will be joined by 11 players from Fat Bob-land. A fan forum where a band actually releases albums, and communicates with its fans. But we don't need to dwell on that one.

The Sisters vs. The Cure 8)

My thanks to Pista who came up with the original concept/challenge during McFIFA.

To all you Sisters' fans who have already answered the call to arms, I salute you.

Those who are still undecided, always remember our battle cry:
Andrew Eldritch (might have) wrote:I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry God for Barry, Heartland, and The Sisters!

& for those who want to see our pick (I'll add all the teams as they become apparent) at our place The new board is open

Best of luck all
Cheers.

Is there a time limit on registrations ?

I'm at Splendour tomorrow and it's my Dad's 91 birthday celebration on Sunday. Is Monday OK?

You're in Martin. No worries.

Enjoy those family moments, because let's face it, you've sold your soul to the Devil. Again.

Let me know when you need the league code.

As he runs The Cure fan-site we're playing against, and threw down the original gauntlet, I'd take a wild stab in the dark that he's Team Coach for the fat ones. With hair. And albums. :von:

A lovely idea, however ... ;D :notworthy: ...

And I knew the words to every song.

"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Thank you for even considering it Sabine, but if I'm one player short come deadline day, guess who's gonna be stalking your PM box.

Enjoy playing around with your kit designs HLers, but when the game starts we'll all be wearing the same (absence of) colours.

I've managed to bag 11 Klingon cloaking devices on eBay at a decent price. I'm struggling with the instructions, as my knowledge of Klingon is a bit rusty, but I think I'm getting there. Just need to work on the shirt.

Fat Bob-land won't know what's hit them.
