yes, as i recall they all originally linked back to a tribute page to Ruth, but it's been a very long time since i found it. I recall one with Vega though
Goths have feelings too
Thanks a lot, very interesting. The site I found the picture on contains some excellent photos of other artists too, I particularly like the ones of The Cure. Today's teenagers are terribly lucky to have Internet... fandom wasn't very easy in Central-Eastern Europe back in the 80s-90s...Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:This photo is linked to the one featured from post 58 on this thread, as Angel Corpus Christi (Andrea Ross) was one of the big faces on the US indie scene in the 80s (as was her husband who took this photo).
Andrea and had other mutual friends, for example Alan Vega (with whom they both later recorded - separately), Ruth Polsky (who took the photo on post 58, the Detroit adult movies shot and the live picture in FALAA) and Howard Thompson, the English born youthful head of A + R at Elektra Records in the 80s (and the guy listed as "ht" in the photo in post 58 ).
ACC will be best known to UK HLers for "Me and my Beretta", the bonus track on her 1995 album which Mark Radcliffe played frequently on Radio One back in the day.
I have just as much of a dark side as the next person.

Some fantastic photos on that site which give the (deliberate ?) impression that Lemmy, Joey Ramone, The Psychedelic Furs, , Angel Corpus Christi (picutred wearing a couple of Sisters t-shirts BTW), John Lydon, Bjork and others all used to hang out together with Howard Thompson as the catalyst. Pity he couldn't persuade ,and Yellowman to work together - now that would have been interesting.BeeBeeOh wrote:Almost! http://flickrhivemind.net/User/northfor ... nterestingBeing645 wrote:Was it this page: http://northforksound.blogspot.de/ ...BeeBeeOh wrote: The site I found the picture on contains some excellent photos of other artists too...

I was reading the On the Road with the Ramones book recently and noticed a picture of Joey without his sunglasses on. It was only then that I realised he is another one who is very, very rarely photographed with his eyes clearly visible. Somehow it seems more part of Andrew's image than Joey's.
Both of them also have striking heights

Try that one.
It's not without sunglasses but it's close...

A man with a fictitious grin pondered the terrain in which he flooded with anguish, for this is England. The lion cannot be tamed, this is the game.

Not a photo but recently came across this quote which seems to fit this thread ...
Whereas some rock stars put sunglasses on to avoid recognition, Andrew Eldritch used to take his off.
I visited him in Hamburg once, and for the first five minutes in his company I thought he was just a little helper guy from Warner Records. Only when the press officer said "Do you want to interview Andrew now?" and left me and the little feller alone in a room together did I twig. (Could have been very embarrassing, but I don't think he noticed, and I never let on.)
Those mirrored shades really made his face. Without them, he could walk right past you in Tesco (or German equivalent... Tedesco?) and you'd never know it.

Yeah, I always wondered how he gets around without 'constantly' being recognized/annoyed. Guess there's the answer.Nikolas Vitus Lagartija wrote:Not a photo but recently came across this quote which seems to fit this thread ...

I do not necessarily agree with everything I think. -AE
