gelsenkirchen 30.8.1998

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Never! I'd go for a 'comb over' first, if I had anything to comb over

Just a small query. I've seen Gelsenkirchen on peoples lists but listed as being only 2 songs (or sometimes 3). What's the story behind that? Is it tape recorder malfunction or a traders sample? The latter would seem weird for late 90's (early 80's I could understand a bit better), but it seems weird when 1998 gigs are available in abundance.

Gelsenkirchen 98 was a festival, I guess it's the same story as Wiesen 97. Someone recorded bit and bits of different bands on the same tape.

Ah ok, thanks. I'd not thought of that.

I think it's too much to hope that those 2 songs would consist of the songs that were played directly before and after the gig which would be infinitely more interesting than the gig itself!
