FPL GW1: Preview, update and review (Deadline: 11:30 16Aug)

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

8 points from ivanovic making him my highest scoring player this GW...far more than my captain (so there may be a and change there soon). that gives me an FPL average of 36 points. the leagues not been updated yet tho.

Surprised ? I was gutted. I have Hull's McGregor and his 14 points now stranded on the bench. Fortunately I have Schurrle and Ivanovic to soften the blow.

the leagues updated as well now. i've got 38 points now thanks to a bonus and i'm 13th in our league.
talking of which, are we using an accumulative points score as the difference betwween the two teams or what? is there going to be a regularly updated way of seeing which team is winning? :?:

You're learning Young Grasshopper:

Is no longer blind."

Should have stuck some shit about cherry blossom and rivers running, in there as well, but ran out of time. Sorry!

Don't think Schürrle will even be in the squad as he's just come back from his "I won the World Cup" holiday and only resumed training last week.

But welcome, laperouse and thank you! :)
Glad that Schürrle was pretty much present... And Fabregas even more... :D

Looking forward for next game. Glad to be here. :)

We might be 67 pts behind (already) but we are playing a man short so I'd count GW 1 as a moral victory for HL. We could ask :von: to make up the numbers but he's probably more interested in the result of tonight's Evostik League derby between Farsley and Ossett.

it's perfectly possible that his painted blackness (or whoever replaces him) could have scored 67 or more -Laperouse did. so -fairly balanced so far i'd say. 8)

A terribly late rely from me, and my apologises.

Big kudos to The Cure for their win. :notworthy:

So bern15 - laperouse now wears the Yellow Jersey as our leader of the pack.

But also, a special shout-out to laperouse for even taking the time to cross-over, engage us in banter and then... crush us.

But it's been fun, so see you all again next GW in TCC. :)

Elsewhere, the general banter FPL thread on HL is back.

Lock it Marko.
