Whilst researching TSOM's appearances at legendary New York club Danceteria in the mid 80s, I came across this site http://blog.warhol.org/time-capsules/tc ... -ordinary/.
Warhol collected then sealed his ephemeral belongings in these Time Capsules, and the reference to the Sisters flyer intrigued me. I assume that it is the well known flyer of forthcoming attractions which features TSOM amongst many other gigs and happenings, but would be delighted to be proved wrong.
I also wonder about the flyer's significance. Was it just an item thrust into Warhol's hand on one of his visits to Danceteria (often described as an 80's version of The Factory), or was Warhol in attendance at one of the band's gigs there in Sept 83 ?

At least it seemed significant enough for Warhol to preserve it in one of his capsules ... ...
So The Sisters of Mercy are cleary a part of modern art and musical history ...
I completely agree with Warhol (and Lagerfeld a few years ago): They fully deserve the mention! ... ...
Thanks for the link, Nik ... ...

My pleasure, and I agree with you, one would like to think that Warhol would have appreciated 's sleeve designs, whose starkness and uniformity played a key role in the creating the mystique surrounding the band in the early days, not least the iconic logo.[/b]
