FPL GW3: Preview, update and review (Deadline 30 Aug 11:30)

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So, I was totally destroyed during this weekend. Unfortunately, not in control of my team since Friday morning, but that's not an excuse... :?
Everything turned so wrong... Jones and Mirallas on the bench with very nice scores indeed... And Mirallas was on 75% on Friday... He is really one of my favourite players in Premiership. During my years in Athens, it was always fun to watch him scoring for Olympiacos... Was let down by Ramsey completely... Luckily Agbonlahor scored and decision to put Krul ahead of Howard was wise enough... I must rethink something for upcoming fixtures... 8)

Falcao may well be coming in for Rooney too

Planet Dave wrote:Blimey you're all researching long and deep into the ins and outs and possibilities of each player in the context of each game aintcha? Is that how some folk have already amassed upwards of 150 points? I just go with players I know are half decent for their club, and look no further....and it shows, a measly 14 or so points today. I figured it'd all even itself out over the season, clearly there's a fair bit more to it eh? All being well tomorrows lot will do better, but tbh I have no idea how players amass points other than by scoring or assisting, I just know my one city muppet amassed none today. If I sell him he'll score a hat-trick next week, for certain. Ah well, until I start to seriously let the HL Massive down I'll just have to make do, no time for studying form like some of you seem to be.
At least you seem to have half a clue Dave which is more than I do. Bloody 18th....

I didn't want to risk accessing FPL this morning for the final number crunching, as I wasn't sure if the site was under attack from a seriously pissed off 4chan/Anonymous member who'd had a very bad GW :x, or not.

As it now appears, FPL had simply forgotten to renew their SSL Certificate.

Pen and paper, and trusty calculator, are now in hand. Back later. :von:

And so, boys and girls, your final scores on the doors are as follows:

Team scores:

GW1: The Sisters 411 – 478 The Cure
GW2: The Cure 474 – 488 The Sisters
GW3: The Sisters 464 - 403 The Cure

GW3 Differential: +61 The Sisters

Overall Differential: +87 The Sisters

After a surprise defeat in the opening day fixture, the Industrial Groove Machine is slowly, but surely, starting to wind-up the gears and assert its authority. :von:

Personal scores:

Clash All Stars (Schmed) retain the Yellow Jersey, and appear to have made an early break from the chasing pack. Early doors, as they always struggle on the hill-trials.

The Big Shout Out award goes to Cheesy NotSoAthletic (Cats NCheese) with a top score of 58 this GW. :notworthy:

No FPL this weekend as we have an International break.

Thanks to all those who participated.

See you all over in Fat Bob-land in a couple of weeks for GW4.

The End.

A daily combination of tramadol/codeine/morphine dulls everything. That's why I think The Cure are a dance band.

Now then. Back to the main thread please children.

It's like herding cats ;D
