Very old Furs photo ! That must be one of the original batches of TSOM shirts as they had gone from a six to a four piece by early 1982 ...paint it black wrote:bought this last week. was rummaging around the sleeve and noticed something sisters related

Is this the oldest known photo of a Head and Star t-shirt ? I guess this photo must be from 1981 ?
Incidentally, the two guys who left the Furs after this photo both played on Ashton's Satellite Paradiso pledge project earlier this year.

Including the PRIESTLEY'S T SHIRTS catalogue with his april 1981 supplement.
1981 is noticed on the cover and we could see the Sisters Tee Shirt pic listed reference number 113.

bravo, Monsieur Spiggy, you've done it again ! Thanks once again for sharing one of your early treasures.
Given the date of the supplement and the number of new shirts available, the original catalogue must have printed months earlier, so does this mean the t-shirts were available even before the first gig

... ... cool!!!! ... where the hell did you find that old stuff, spiggymr7 ... ...
It looks like they arranged for t-shirts being printed on time for the Damage Done release, i.e. November 1980 ... ...

So in the light of the 81 photo of John Ashton in the TSOM t-shirt, at which Furs gig in Leeds did the fabled meeting between AE and JA take place at which the former gave the latter a demo tape, leading to him eventually producing the Alice EP.
The Furs played at Tiffany's in the Merrion Centre in May 81, but before that had played twice in 1980 (at Futurama in September and at the Fan Club in Feb) with their first Leeds appearance also at the Fan Club in late 79, as this flyer from the ever impressive Post Punk Flyer site will testify. https://www.flickr.com/photos/33135085@ ... 1455086944

lovely history lessons from all regardless.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"
