free U2 album

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I agree, that U2's latest output - say the last 2-5 years - has become mediocre.

However, I still like them and their live shows are nice

Re the new album, it's not great, but not that bad as well IMO. Maybe you should give it a chance ...

I think I've heard most of the songs now, that Joey Ramone one has just been on Radio 2 now for example. It's funny because as an excercise I listened to the Unforgettable Fire yesterday and actually the seeds of U2s MOR mediocrity were being sown even then, IMO. To my ears that album had some decent songs on it but there appeared to be a concerted effort to construct themes that would appeal to the lucrative US audience. Cynical of me, I know. I still like the Boy, War and October albums alot and I thought Achtung Baby and Zooropa were actually efforts to push boundaries but it seemed like the poor sales of Zooropa forced U2 into backing off and settling into a more safe approach, hence the similarities of all the albums since.

But each to their own.
