WTF!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

You can't deny, treasure, that there is a Greek tradition of books (as fat as the bible) about conspiracy theories,
secret service stories (mostly concerning the CIA, the Mossad and other such actors)and so on ... ...

I've seen plenty such books in the 80s, but I forgot the names of the author(s) ...
anyway, quite a few Greek around me felt the need to read them - all ... ...
Ok, i can in truth say that there is a hell lot of books about conspiracy theories in greek language. back in 70's-80's mostly about iron curtain, cold war, mossad, bad commies, good capitalism. Ofc, all those were best sellers as the movies made from them like "4th Protocol", "Children from Brazil" and many many i cant even remember. but you can consider them as entertainment mainly, they were never seen by most as reality. Wow i remember one author just now that had written some good ones, Robert Ludlum ? am i right?
 good writter but not university
yeap, most of us can't resist reading them, but you will not believe the main reason "why?" the "why" question is the correct question in that case. I suggest to have a look in the movie "Man on the Moon" about that comedian in America and the strange type of Jokes he did from time to time. Then watch an episode of "Ancient Aliens" with Tsakalos (That Greek Alien guy that says everything comes from aliens that were here from old times....) and after watch it think that Tsakalos actually don't believe in Aliens at all...
@Bartek i am not trying to p*ss you off, i make no concern about your age, i will not open a religion conversation in here except if that involves the "Sisters of Mercy". You are not naive, you are not a school boy but never ever believe that you are absolutely right in what you may believe, cause life has many examples of how bad you can fall when you realize that what you believe might not be exactly the truth you thought of. Doubt your believes before someone else do that for you and you will never get disappointed.

But we can't stop them. I think it was Douglas Adams that wrote back in 1980's about :
"The related book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to Getting Laid Anywhere in the Galaxy (Megadodo Publications, available from all good retailers) reports:

Gallifrey. Well. Best not to bother, really.

According to legend, Eccentrica Gallumbits, the triple-breasted whore of Eroticon Six, attempted to seduce the Lord President of Gallifrey. The resulting blow to her ego precipitated her third and penultimate retirement.
"

They only mentioned half of the Crisp quote - the full quote is “The British do not expect happiness...they do not want to be happy; they want to be right.

I'll take being right over being happy, if being happy means living in a fantasy world of ill-conceived optimism and rose-tinted Panglossian spectacles. Bollocks - British politics are godawful, the weather's generally bollocks, public transport is dire, and the minute the mercury hits 15 degrees we get outbreaks of heatstroke and knotted handkerchiefs. In general we don't know how to deal with happy - but we are happiest when we are proved right.

Since this sounds like my own mentality to me, and the Austrians having elevated grumbling and whining to an art form, I'd say it might be universal ;)

Clearly it's a northern European malaise - what gets me about the sepos is their mindless optimism in the face of reality. "Sure, if we elect this guy then things will change (a) for the better, (b) immediately, and we'll all be happier."

Then when this remarkable change does not occur, instead of learning from the experience, they go through the same fantasy the next time they're called upon to exercise their democratic obligations. I mean, seriously - WTF?

And then this shit happens - "should you fail to exercise sufficiently mindless optimism, we want to hear why".
