Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Are you still working at Leeds Uni ? If so, any chance you can have a word with the great and good and get his long overdue honorary doctorate as a famous alumnus TUoL. The Uni was happy to use the "goth city" angle to attract impressionable teenagers in the early 90s, and has awarded degrees to Corinne Bailey Rae amongst others. Perhaps we should start a petition. Would love to see the wee guy in the gown and hat still wearing the infamous shades !markfiend wrote: an album older than most of the undergraduates where I work

Yeah I am, but I have absolutely zero influence over decisions like that. I'm just a humble web-monkey.
