oooh.....now then! The Sisters start compiling some of their vast archive of filmed concerts for a future DVD release, and schedule festivals for the summer. As of now (April 2002), they are scheduled to headline summer festivals in Germany and Switzerland. A full European tour may follow in the autumn.
It's worth mentioning that new and hence unreleased songs make up half of any live Sisters set these days, although the classics get a good thrashing in rotation. Having derived their light show from the Big Bang (gleefully inventing rave lighting in the process), the Sisters see no reason to tone it down, and will be exploding in all their glory again this summer.
It's loud, it's grindingly beautiful, and it's probably heading your way.
See the Sisters website for current schedule.
Metal Hammer: "[The Sisters are...] a lean glittering groove machine for the new millennium, leaving the sullenly anachronistic reformations of their contemporaries far behind."

glad you brought that up QB
When I first read about it, to say the least I was chuffed
but then on reflection, these thoughts came to mind
anyone with more knowledge than me of these things please can you help out
. who would take on the marketing and promotion of said, DVD are there independent distributors for such things?
. would it be even more costly to put out a DVD than say a new single?
. given that half the set is new, has this ever been done before, I know of no other band who has "sold" the new material in this way?
still lets hope so eh
Gimmie something that I missed..............

so you're saying that you think it's untrue? "how and why would they release their new material via live dvd?" and "who would fund it?"
maybe they have signed something with someone? or maybe bitten the bullet and gone the indie route?
hmm, maybe not... fingers crossed though eh?

No, not untrue (well I hope not anyway)
Just does anyone know has it been done before ??:
It seems to me a risky and limiting route for showcasing the new material.
So, yes I came to the same conclusion
Some type of deal has been signed by someone, or
the independent route, but is the actual "laying down" of DVD more costly than CD ??:
and you won't make me jealous

Don´t forget how the Wake video was released and funded. Not by Warner because they didn´t think it was a good idea so The Sisters went to Polygram and they released it. See the The Ssters website for information about it.
It could be easier to release a video/DVD because of a good deal between the two parties. It can happen.

I just cant see it being true... unless there is an album due which i dont think is the case. There would have to be something more behind this to help promote it...
I mean, just how many could they sell
As ever, hope it is true, but suspect it is "bobbins!"
Paddy.

also hidden deep inside the TARDIS
We already put out a live album with film footage, in the form of 'Wake', the video of the Albert Hall event. And people got a lot less excited about it than they do about bootlegs.
Anyway, you'd be the first to scream if the next thing you got was not a new studio album.

Although I would love to see a DVD released I can't help but notice that every time the Sisters go into tour mode the band release a comment about the possiblity of new material, it seems they have just replaced the letters CD with DVD.
Just take a look at the FAQ (of the boring kind) on the official site, the question "I assume you record all your concerts. When can I expect the live album?"

Let's wait and see. After all, that's what we've been doing all this time right?

But anyway, it would be a good idea if some of us actually owned dvd players.
It's possible that someone has optioned the rights to the promo videos. This could be Shot Rev 3.0, padded out with live footage and hopefully those dodgy FALA promos.
Will believe it only when posted on the official site or GPS.

You are what you drink - I'm a bitter man!
Just finished reading the Eldritch interview in GPS 05 - it's official - the Sisters are working on a self funded DVD.
The exact content isn't known, or the release date.
But then, you'd probably guessed as much.
The major downside is I'm finally going to have to invest in a DVD player!

Doubt that it will be a live DVD, perhaps some choosen live clips but not more. But hey, the one who lives the day will see the dawn of a new day
