First and Last and Always cover

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So Merge records boss Mac McCaughan covered FALAA for Halloween.

Rubbish.

Anyone who signs a band like arcade fire needs a long nail bashed into their eye.
Cheers.

i categorically DETEST all covers of sisters' songs, (yes, even lambchop's).
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

Not intending to cover it, but I thought I'd get back to that electric guitar by figuring out the first three riffs from FALAA.
Then I thought I'd christen the looper pedal by doing the intro (sans bass and drum machine).
That was Friday night.
I've had the first riff stuck in my head since then.

I think it's actually OK.

Far from the worst I've heard, and at least it avoids the Darth Vader syndrome.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Okay, I'm stumped. What's that? Recording inhalation and exhalation sounds alongside with the singing?

Vocals that sound like a man in a Darth Vader helmet at the bottom of a 50-foot well, basically.

Oh, and since rien's new: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swT-x9W6ktQ (the rest of you can skip this, you can probably guess what it is  )

I'm always impressed when people have recorded evidence that what they just did sounded awful, and yet they STILL desperately want the world to know. I mean, I've made terrible recordings of myself half-assedly singing stuff while walking through the woods, but I usually delete them afterwards...

OK, it was mean of me to post that, but the way you describe it is just perfect. :notworthy:

It sounds like if you moved FALAA towards the direction of goffickness opposite the Sisters' poppy futurist industrial thing. Obviously? Still, I like it.

I know I can be disturbing at times, but that video even disturbed me. Whether that's good or bad, me or the video, is currently being processed in my brain. I hope to have a definitive answer by the next Sisters' album.

So some time around 2000-never. :von:
