Sisters/AE biopic

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

It was the intention to not mention the project, people have a tendency to put me down when I do so I tend not to tell people about it until it's done. Von quotes will be used in the script, probably not going to be using pre recorded stuff though, we just need to find a :von: good enough.

Best wishes for the project. No one should put anyone down for trying to do something creative IMO

i certainly assumed this was a wishful-thinking, hypothetical pie-in-the-sky post of the sort we are often forced to ponder due to the bands lack of actua activity and therefore hasten to apologise for my earlier flippancy...in no way would i want to run down or belittle anyone with genuine creativity with regard to projects based around Our Hero(es). :von:

And likewise.

But I still stand over what I said in my first replies - the kind of AE biopic I'd want to see is one that documents a transformation from a (semi-fictional) safari-suited diplomat to a (semi-finctional?) wasted meth-addled R'n'R fiend, and let the truth go hang.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

If you could afford him, it sounds as if Tom Hiddleston could be your man, according to this review of a recent Jim Jarmusch film http://standardissuemagazine.com/arts/films-year/.

In my (in my dreams) Andrew Eldritch bio pic Kevin Bacon plays Von. I think he could look the part with a bit of make up and I believe he could capture Von's sense of humour. I have a notebook of ideas, I'd be happy to contribute them if you're prepared to make that call to Mr Bacon. :D

I've been wondering when someone would suggest Hiddleston.
I'm against him playing Von, because a) since Loki, everyone is putting black wigs on him, and it needs to stop--it pains me to see an actor of his calibre getting typecast for beautiful broody goth-type characters.
b) he's too tall and [s]too conventionally[/s] a different kind of pretty.

But then, I'm also in the very lonely camp of wanting a biopic that would actually try to be "truthful" and not a Fear And Loathing rock-opera ;)

Also, if we follow current Hollywood logic, we'd HAVE to cast Benedict Cumberbatch, because he apparently needs to be in everything these days.

As long as you don't make him look like this:

From The Wicked And The Divine (which is actually pretty cool), and yes, Baphomet's dialogue sounds suspiciously like re-purposed :von: sound-bites.

Ha, I bet he sometimes would have loved to show an appearance like this at a time. *** Like many a boy and a girl in a way... ...

I just realised the head could be an allusion to Pat's departure...

I was going to go with Iggy Pop in the lead role, but he'd need to lose a few pounds to portray :von: in his earlier years...

Great project, good on you.
I have long thought about such a beast.... either OTT or plain, corduroy.

As for the lead role.... Ben Wishaw???? Love the idea of Russ the Huss.

Oooh ben whishaw is an inspired choice!
Alright, well, this is the project.

It's called The Damage Done, it's gonna be 10 - 15 minutes long, It's about the formation of the sisters, and the time up till Ben Gunn left.

The first stage of the project is to make a 3-4 minute trailer, just to garner enough interest on the bloody thing.

We've cast Gary and Ben, got our eye on a few people for craig, no idea for andy, we have our claire, and we have our spiggy.

Well, now you've got the important roles taken care of, everything else should slot into place with little effort. :)
