FPL GW23: Preview, update and review (Deadline 31 Jan 11:30)

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Better late than never.

My sincere apologises to both IGM and EIB as both teams, behind the scenes, attempt to work out the Costa Conundrum.

Blah, blah, blah, blah.

It's a tricky one this GW. Innit?

Good luck to all.

Tricky one ? I would have thought that the are as many home bankers as usual (Palace/United/Stoke) but I could be wrong (usually am).
This would seem like a good week for those of us without Costa so far to pick him up on the "cheap".

The time to pick him up on the cheap will be in either 3 or 5 game weeks time just before people start transferring him back in.

Yep. The Costa conundrum has flummoxed quite a few (as has the Sanchez scenario), but in all honesty, ban or no ban, I couldn't see him reaping many points against City. Like Nick said, there are a few fixtures that seem to be "certain bankers".
Was tempted by Sanogo for about 5 seconds before I made my choices. I expect he'll get a hat trick now
Cheers.

Looks like breaking my goalie-roatation and putting Krul in was a good decision. Nice start to my GW with 8 points from the keeper. 8)

Just skimmed over the teams and quite surprised at how many still have Costa starting.
Cheers.

Just got in and playing catch-up with what's happening. I was torn between Alice band options this GW, as there was nothing obvious re form v. fixtures for FCB-Z, so just randomly stuck it on Raheem. Which was nice. :)

I think that's just solved my "who do I replace Costa with?" conundrum. Raheem's gone on my WC, so Danny Boy seems like a nice upgrade for LIV coverage. 8)

Congrats to Lee who was between a rock and a hard place this GW re putting 11 on the pitch. He took advice, he took direction but remained his own man. The reward was a nice Wasilewski/Albrighton goal/assist combo from his adopted home town boys. Balls of steel. :notworthy:

Sadly this consolation goal for the hapless Foxes also cost me (and IGM) four points for de Gea's clean sheet

IGM lost four points, but won 11 points. Net team gain, seven points.

An IGM GW is all about swings and roundabouts. As long as everybody's in the playground, I'm happy. And keep the hairdryer unplugged.

Raheem 3, Kane 3, Eriksen 2, Jags 3... after a quick flit around the detailed stats.

The Girl done good.

Great performance there.

Are you going to use your wildcard this week before it expires?

The Girl isn't too displeased and may hand out pencils with fancy erasers on them to said team members.
I am, Mav. Just had hell of a couple of weeks and time to sit and think has been non existent. had to do a little thinking last night as had 5 players unavailable, and that finished me off.
may be over the worst now and get some time back.

I had a feeling that Spurs were going to do well. 8) I dithered between Eriksen and Kane for the Alic-band and jumped the wrong way. Hey ho, at least I didn't give it to Oscar, like I was thinking of at one point.

I'm hoping for a good show from my SOU boys this afternoon...
