FPL GW23: Preview, update and review (Deadline 31 Jan 11:30)

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Johnny Rev 7.0 wrote:Congrats to Lee who was between a rock and a hard place this GW re putting 11 on the pitch. He took advice, he took direction but remained his own man. The reward was a nice Wasilewski/Albrighton goal/assist combo from his adopted home town boys. Balls of steel. :notworthy:
thank you for your kind words. in the end it was still a low-scoring, below the average, week with only 34 pts....however not the lowest score in the team, and with only 9 of my 14 squad members playing. so yes -thank fuck for the LCFC boys contribution (leicester is my actual home town btw.)

onwards and upwards...with the excess £3.3m generated by the costa/pelle transfer i have shored-up my swiss-cheese defence by getting rid of wilkinson and buying john terry. knew you'd be pleased.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

The vastly inferior Hungarian lead, and the high-tech German ink (can you guess the GW result?) have conferred and reached a consensus.

Industrial Groove Machine 638 - 571 Eleven Imaginary Boys

GW23 differential: +67 The Sisters

Overall differential: +290 The Sisters

The Yellow Jersey remains on FC Bennweg-Zeis 1921 (Johnny Rev 7.0). Rumours that he likes the colour so much, and is off to start a political revolution somewhere in South East Asia (where apparently Yellow is all the rage) have yet to be confirmed.

The Big Shout Out award goes to Greece. Or rather Meteora Heartland FC (iesus) with a spendid 83pts this GW. I'm sure he won't mind me saying this, but he did struggle at the start of the season.

He listened, he kept his head down, worked really hard and has flown up the League table. Well done Konstantinos! :notworthy:

As always there can only be one GW winner, so our commiserations to our gallant opponents. :|

We hope, you enjoyed your stay. Its good to have you with us, even if its just for one GW. :)

Apparently Pista (who I know is a geeky-boy) is lining up a 22 player virtual chat for next GW, as opposed to us all typing on forums. He did give me a preview of his beta.

I'm not quite sure how he fits that in a 6' x 4' shed at the bottom of a garden, but I do know he's a Doctor Who fan.

  :notworthy:
Had to stick a wifi amplifier in the garden to get that lot on line.
The bean tins on string just wouldn't cut it.
Good result for you lot again & just goes to show that even with two of the top strikers in the league out of the picture high point hauls are not impossible ;)
Well played IGM & see you at the Stadium Of Faith when we've got all crimped & lippied.

I just popped over to TCC to make a GW24 comment, so it would be nice if the rest of IGM made the effort too.

Danke. :notworthy:

Will do, Boss. Would be nice to see some of the EIB over here more often too though (although I can understand why they've been hiding away this week  ).
