Adrenochrome - how many studio versions?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

After taking a good look around the rather excellent sisterswiki, and many pages of this forum, I have realised that I have a version of Adrenochrome that I cannot place.

I have:

6:48 - w/ Teachers - from the 'Gary Marx' tape
2:57 - SGWBM
2:54 - Reverb / Kenny Giles
2:53 - Instrumental / Kenny Giles

and

3:56/3:44 ish - The arrangement is most similar to the medley version (ie 6:48 ), but starts and ends differently (amongst other things). The timing is a bit iffy, as the mp3 I had was likely sourced from tape, and I sped it up to make it sound 'correct'.

The original ID3 tag described the track as a Peel session, but it's obviously not.

Can anyone offer any insight please?

A studio version ...  ... I wouldn't bet on that.

Anyway, just guessing (and leaving final commenting to our experts),
I'd suggest it's from one of these:

http://sisterswiki.org/Ultra_Rare_Trax
http://sisterswiki.org/The_Incredible_H ... rs_-_Vol_1
http://sisterswiki.org/Live_In_The_Trojan_Horse

Btw, the "rather excellent SistersWiki" offers more tools for appropriate searching if you register* and log in ... 8) ...

* might take a day or two before your account request is confirmed, but hell ... ...

Most likely it's the version from Paradiso Amsterdam 1983.

Only the Americans could have built a place like this in the middle of a jungle.

I dropped the two into Audacity and 'Bingo' - that's the one.

Thanks for clearing this up.

EDIT: It sucks how bootleggers will edit a track and give it a 'fake' name.

I've always considered that a variation on Hanlon's Razor as the bootleg recording guys used to simply send a couple of guys in with mics and then punt the recording out to Mr Matey in the market. In many cases they probably didn't even know the band let alone the songs, so they just guessed the song names, such as "She Will" and the like.

That would apply to ijits on soulseek that propagate incorrectly titled shares.
