I have a few bootlegs from thru the years, of the 'Parody Years' the Suikerrock Festival '08 is by far the best I've come across.
Sadly, I am still searching for decent versions of:
War on Drugs
Romeo Down
Will I Dream?
Slept
Arms
Gift that Shines
Rain from Heaven
Can anyone offer some advice regarding shows which offer sound the equal of the Suikerrock Fest, or better? I'd be very grateful.
Please: no camera footage unless you know it was shot on a boom mic or had a feed from the mixing desk. Yeah right!
Ta!
Just the gig date is all I require, no need to post links unless you want to share in mp3 format (I won't bother with flac/wav etc)
Which concert recording has the best sound?

This is camera footage but it has superb sound. Better sound than some socalled soundboards. I've not heard Suikerrock, does it sound as good as this?Gaijin wrote:Please: no camera footage unless you know it was shot on a boom mic or had a feed from the mixing desk. Yeah right!

One reason I gave up downloading the more recent live recordings is the quality was often poor. Often not the tapers fault if the venue had bad sound.
Can someone tell me if there's any recent-ish audio that sounds as good as that Luxembourg video?
(I assume a complete audio exists of that Luxembourg gig but quality might not be as good depending on how lucky the taper was.)
Best version of Gift That Shines: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxJs1b9Ey44
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Also worthy of note is Kravad's awesome master of Gothenburg 2011

Thanks very much for the pointers. I'll be checking them out later, if available.
@Dan: your link crashes my preferred browser, so I'll get back to you re Suikerrock when I get there again. Naturally having 1 gig as a source for multiple tracks is preferable to having individual tracks from different gigs.
@mh: I'm just hoping that a nice version of The Sisters cover is to be found, because I like The Lorries so much.
@Drsisters: Thanks, all found. Assimilation will commence after the commercial break. Top marks.
@Pista: Thanks, located, but as flac, which is irrelevant on bootlegs IMO. I note the inclusion of Pipeline though - which I have in no form at all.

still amazes me, the effort he went to to set up those recordings - the Joseph Wells one is pretty cool tooDrsisters wrote:War On Drugs

I would suggest you look into that Stockholm recording suggested by Drsisters. I've never heard a better audience recording. 10/10.Dan wrote:Can someone tell me if there's any recent-ish audio that sounds as good as that Luxembourg video?

The Brixton 93 one is one of my favourites. Mostly very good sound quality (TSOM Wiki mentions something about it being "officially leaked"...). Storming versions of Corrosion and F&L&A, and a nice Giving Ground to boot. I imagine you're familiar with it already, but I have lots of praise for that boot.
Also those live bonus tracks from the WYDSM 12" sound really good. Shame there was never an official live album released around that time. That version of Ribbons is magnificent.

Isn't it?AdrenaChris wrote:That version of Ribbons is magnificent.
I use an edited version of the "incoming" scream as my email tone on the phone & it still scares the bejeebuz out of me.
Is there a way one could obtain a digital version of this recording?AdrenaChris wrote:The Brixton 93 one is one of my favourites. Any idea where one might acquire the NEC 92? I keep reading about how that was a good one.
