"Jihadi Von"

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Let's see:

Dresses in black.
Had a good education.
Good with a sword.
Likes to make videos in the desert.

Anything else?

I'm sure :von: would find the comparison most humourous. :|

...happiness is a loaded weapon...

...and we know he's not averse to beheadings (so long as pikes are available).

Yep, pretty conclusive. I mean, assuming that your definition of jihadi is loose enough to include "short-arsed cockney-sparrah cavorting about the desert in over-sized shades dealing unpleasantness to people who are not (a) goths or (b) former bandmates," then yes, it's clear that :von:'s a jihadi.

For that matter, so am I if the stamps in my passport are any indication*.

*in case anyone who worries about these things is reading this, the Syria trip was a long time before this whole thing kicked off, Iran likewise, and we'll keep Lebanon between us girls, alreet?

I suspect The Sisterhood album was the first time many of us had seen the word 'Jihad' used.

I find it very amusing (except that I have an urge to point out he's probably got most experience with swords designed for thrusting no, not that kind... at least not in this context, not cutting).

If you're Cyrano de Bergerac, then I'd agree. Unfortunately most of these fuckers seem to be suffering from a terminal case of lack of sense of humour, so I'm not entirely convinced that they could be swayed from cutting your head off by the "But why not? We're fun guys!" joke.*

It's been a long day and I read the title as JEDI VON and then had trouble making sense of some of the comments.

I don't really know why I told you that.

We could turn it into another discussion on the malinterpretation of the term Jihad by some misdirected overzealous bigots ... ...

I don't see humour as being a weapon against the hostages who were actually beheaded or set fire to.
Maybe I just don't share your sense of humour.

Of course the actual humour and madness of religion and the terrorism there of is another matter. Four lions being a prime and very fine example.

I doubt, there is any means that has a disciplinary effect on these creatures,
except they encounter terror and disgust about their own sickening cruelties ...
but most of them don't even seem to be aware of themselves and their own
capacities to decide or act ... and they feel soo high above ... blinded by the light ...

Anyway, IMHO, this has got absolutely nothing to do with neither The Sisterhood,
nor Von, nor Jihad as a song, and neither as a concept of Islam.

Four Lions ... should be good to watch ... *making a note for some future time window ...

Anything is up for grabs but the intent and actually being funny make a big difference. Dapper Laughs was rightfully called out as a twit (although he's perfectly entitled to be one!) but Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were on top form a couple of months ago. With a rape joke.

Four Lions is worth a watch.

if Bill Cosby is ever proven innocent then I may delete this post...
