What the hell is this record exactly.....

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

If you follow the trading section you know I am the "lucky" owner of this record. Now what is it? Does anybody else have one? Anybody seen one?
Thanks in advance!

That's what I thought. The fact that the page says so is also a bit of a clue!

Rise891, does your disc contain a different tracklist to the one listed? Otherwise I don't understand the confusion.

It would be easy for someone to put a Swingin' Pig record in the wrong sleeve because they all had such horrible generic sleeves.

I made that page so I know it is indeed that record but no one seems to know anything about this particular red one. Is it a one off, is it a test pressing, is it a bootleg of a bootleg?

I am asking specifically about this red version. I have the picture disc and the regular pressing and it is the same show.

I remember about 10 or more years ago there was a german who was selling his bootleg collection (a very impressive one)on ebay , one of the last boots he sold was a red vinyl of "Tune in, turn off..." .
I was outbided and the famous, fellow countryman, bootleg maker was the winner. I ve asked him many times since what he has done with that record but he always tells me " its probably sitting in a box".
I do remember that listing very well 'cause i was SO pissed loosing the damn thing.

I was 2nd highest bidder in an Ebay auction for this record in April 2011 ( :urff: ). I don't know, who won the item. The price was €181, you can see the item on popsike. The seller was a collector from southern Germany. His copy had a handwriting on the cover, so there should be at least two copies of this item.

The Tune in bootleg (picture disc and black vinyl) was made by Skeleton Songs together with Atlas Productions (as they called themselves, as far as I remember). The latter designed the cover and were involved in some other productions of bootlegs by Skeleton Songs and others as well. Especially Atlas were involved in the the making of the Possession 2lp (I think also Skeleton songs), Cryptic Flowers lp and Stonehenge lp. All these bootlegs came in different colours with different labels, so there some speculation in early times, if the Tune in lp might exists in different colours as well. Taking all that into account, this is one, maybe the only, colour variation of the Tune in lp. However, the Rogi is strange as the word "Leder" is not printed on my versions of Tune in (neither the picture disc nor the black vinyl), which makes me suspect that the red vinyl might be a limited repress / 3rd press.

Maybe this helps at least a bit.

Based on your info this release has very likely nothing to do with the releases from skeleton, a bootleg of a bootleg. Also swingin pig might not be involved.

It was a good time when lps got coppied, and the sisters offer many examples for it.

Nice copies compared to any greek release these days
love is just a shot away

I know, Tune in was copied by TAKRL two times, Live at Leeds (ltd. 100) even has the same ROGI as far as I remember 😏l

This is the copy I won on ebay and has the handwritten cover. I don't remember paying that much but I guess I was throwing money away back then:) Thank you for the info!
