They Shall Not Pass - Longer version of Body Electric

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

yes please.....actually the pressing question is the exact length as debated above. however a flac rip means we can all compare it ourselves and would be much appreciated.:notworthy: :D
thank you in advance :von:

A good needledrop would be the final piece of the puzzle.

Looks like 4:20 to me. :von:

starting with lossy, here's 320 kbps LAME MP3
https://app.box.com/s/7szdy0yqbi8ypq6gp2ogsg967v20t8a4

now here's the FLAC version
https://app.box.com/s/vybyac10gw1grf8g43655a675ve1w7nd

these both have very light ClickRepair filters run on the source WAV.

if wanted I can share the unfiltered version in a 96/24 FLAC for you purists.

Thankee Dave; same fade as on SGWBM then. Rob can do the sonic analysis. ;D

TSNP vinyl rip for completeness sake would probably be useful.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Thanks Dave, I'm looking forward to listening to your needledrop. So, the 7" has the same fade as SGWBM? I guess that adds further evidence to my claim that SGWBM uses a needledrop, and makes the CNT compilation even more special for including the unique ending. It also means that CNT probably used the master tape in order to get that ending.

24/96 would be great. What equipment did you use, Dave?

Nice.
FYI: Clickrepair can handle high resolution files and it should be those files that you run through, not the dithered 16/44 ones. Once you dither you should make no alterations to the audio as you risk running into audible quantisation artefacts :)

Thanks Dave.

Aha, so my cassette of the single must be sourced from the CNT compilation then as it has the full ending.

Still can't get over how much of an improvement there is on these CNT tracks. I wish someone would locate all the masters and do a proper Sisters reissue project, 80-85!

Thanks again ! :notworthy: Your high quality needle drops of the WEA 12" singles on YT are great. It's fantastic to hear those tracks not yet digitally released more like how :von: intended them to sound.

Has anyone else noticed the tape drop-out on Body Electric before? Much more pronounced on the TSNP upload.

Check 3:54

Oh wow. That's new to me but it certainly is there and quite noticeable now that you mention it.
