Speed Corrected CNT Reel

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Messing about with Audacity again, the 3 additional tracks from the CNT Reel are too fast, as sourced from KG Walks on Water

Here are the speed adjustment values for the 3 additional tracks from this reel.

Body Electric (Backing Track) -4
Adrenochrome Version 2) -5.5
Adrenochrome (Backing Track) -3.5

All tracks matched to their counterparts on SGWBM.

I've recently been comparing KG Walks with the Beyond The Flood bootleg. I found the KG one to be rather disappointing. The songs suffer from dynamic range compression and, as you noticed, some of them run too fast.

Sorry to go slightly off-topic, just thought I'd add that there :)

No it's great that you mention where I can find better versions. The one on KGWOW are almost rubbished.

Depending on how OCD you are, you might want to keep in mind that 16 bit files (i.e. ones ripped from CDs) shouldn't be altered in anyway otherwise you run the risk of introducing audible quantisation errors. The way to alleviate this it to rip the tracks to 24 bit using something like dBpoweramp, making the EQ/volume/pitch/etc adjustments, and then re-dithering to 16 bit. The 24 bit noise floor means you can make changes to the audio without quantisation errors becoming audible.

I'm not OCD with bootlegs if they are sourced from ROIO's.

Generally, my output results are better than than the input, but that's mostly because I can balance channels, correct speed issues, and normalise etc.

I import all the stuff I want to mess with into Audacity in 48khz, which I believe defaults to 24-bit, but whilst working in the app is floating 32-bit. I export everything as 24-bit wav and let iTunes convert to Apple Lossless.

Audacity has a dither on/off option but iTunes doesn't.
