The wiki says the white sleeve edition of Body and Soul is a German repressing from 1990.
Ultimate Resource Guide says it's a UK pressing from 1984.
I'd always been under the impression it was German (presumably cos I'd read that somewhere), but I first became aware of it when I saw it in a UK record shop. (Can't remember when - certainly post-Floodland, but I can't be sure if it was before or after 1990.)
Anyone know which is correct?
Oh, they give different release dates too - wiki says 4th June, URG 18th June. Anyone?

1991, apparently: http://www.discogs.com/Sisters-Of-Mercy ... se/1641177
Yeah, I know some sources say that. But why does URG say it was available in 1984? And how did I see it in a UK record store if it was a short-lived German mispressing that was withdrawn after only a few weeks? Do we have a definitive answer anywhere?
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.
I bought my white sleeved Body & Soul from a UK record fair in April 1990, the seller had it labelled as being French. (Whether it's French or German I don't know, I'm just reporting what the seller had it stickered as.)
On the back of the sleeve it has this at top right:
249 362-0 (D) [to be more accurate, it's a D with a circle round it.]
France: WE 221
And at the bottom it has:
Manufactured in Germany by Record Service GmbH. Alsdorf. Presse en Allemagne par Record Service GmbH. Alsdorf.
The only date to appear on it is 1984.
Perhaps the D with a circle round it refers to Deutschland. So maybe it was for release in both Germany & France.
I can't compare it to the UK sleeve as I bought my UK version too late to get a proper sleeve and it's in a generic sleeve. The labels however are slightly different between it and the UK version.

It's a German pressing. French would've been MPO.
I bought mine in IIRC 1989 or 1990, but I won't be able to check specifics about it until the weekend.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
So those would probably tie in with the German 1990 pressing.
Anyone buy one in 1984 or have on that's a UK pressing rather than a German one?
