Some kind of stranger...

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Good morning everyone,

J's the name, Jonathan to my mother when I've done something untoward! Much like Ra before me, I too have stalked this forum for the best part of my recent history, and much like Ra I have finally decided enough was enough and signed up! The Sisters first grabbed me aged 15 (ten years ago now) having heard 'First & Last & Always' on my surprisingly knowing local pub's jukebox. I was having lunch with my parents at the time, I believe!
Within three years I had a drum-machine, some mirrored aviators I seldom took off, and a 'head-and-star' t-shirt that I have since worn out.

Living in York for now, hail from Cambridge.

Favourite Sisters song: 'Adrenochrome'
Best memory: Having lunch with Robin Guthrie

15 is a very good age to be getting into the sisters...and 30 years later i'm still sat in my shades (pair # 23,517,925,467,234) and my head-and-star t-shirt (or one of it's great-great-great-great grandchildren).

Welcome! :notworthy:

So - Adrendochrome is a good choice, and nobody could be faulted for that, but what of the mighty YCBTO?
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Assuming you're referring to 'You Could be the One'; sardonic and a cracking riff! Still sticking with 'Adrenochrome' though ;)

I may have been a dribbling toddler when it was released, but I know an acronym when I see one ;)

PLYC? Where do I sign? Anything to avoid going on a another Glasgow long-haul. I missed both 30th anniversary shows!
When I lived in Cambridge, it became 'Play Lincoln Ya C**ts' - easy commute! ;)

Aye,I did Nottingham to Glasgow for the last two Sisters gigs there. They haven't played Nottingham since 2006. And that was rubbish.

They need to get themselves a breathing bass player; the bass track is always the soundboard's bugbear - it either sounds great or terrible!
