I AM IRON MAN

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I had the most surreal experience ever today.
My good lady wife and I went to the funeral of a dear
friend, who died from the dreaded big C far too young.
Her 12 year old daughter has been doing loads and loads of fundraising to the degree that she won a Pride Of Britain award last year.

Now, the dear lady who had died left express wishes for everyone to dress in colourful clothing - not sombre. Celebrate! You get the picture....

So...we're queuing up to go in and bearing the above in mind, I'm suprised to see the man standing next to me dressed all in black. He's tall with a goatee and long black hair.

It's then the realisation hits me....so I say...'Excuse me, are you Tony Iommi?'

'Yeah' he replies.

(He was there because he'd met the family at the Pride Of Britain awards)

We then have a 5 minute chat about Sabbath and the lady who'd died...while my wife has no idea who this guy is.

We then get round the corner to see a pallbearer dressed in fancy dress as Iron Man. Tony looks at me. I look at him.

'Is he anything to do with you?' I say.

Admittedly highly inappropriate but under the circumstances, incredibly amusing!

Footnote: What a lovely man he is.

wow. how awesome is that? a shame your friend died though bro...but apart from that- Tony iommi!!

may i ask, is he well himself? its not that long since we thought we might lose him to cancer. it would be a great (second) footnote to your anecdote to hear he's in the clear.

:D Tony Iommi :D

On his Facebook site on the 9th April he posted - "Thank you for all the enquiries about my health, very kind. I’m not sure how the rumour of my being unwell started as I was away on holiday! Once you’ve had something like lymphoma the fear that it will return never leaves, all I can say is that right now I’m fine and have regular blood tests."

Commiserations about your Friend, mate :(

Did you resist the urge to look at his mangled finger?

That's amazing!
