No cable TV to speak of, so back to weekly pirating of
Anyone else notice the homage in the GoT Season 5 premiere to The Last of the Mohicans, or am I just imagining things?

Re: The Last of the Mohicans: When I saw Maggy the Frog (played by Jodhi May, who portrayed Alice, Cora's sister in TLotM) in the Cersei flashback sequence, I knew that I knew her from somewhere. Then, when Jon Snow mercifully shot Mance Rayder as he was being burned alive, it clicked! Well, for me, anyway. As always, I *could* be full of crrrrraaaaap!

I've been knee-deep in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for a couple of weeks now, which comes in handy as a compare and contrast to Alexander Siddig as Doran Martell in the bits of GoT I'm still willing to watch. Ooh, his accent slipped...
Also, everything I've seen Indira Varma in has her play the significant other to a man who makes extremely bad life choices (Rome, Luther, Game Of Thrones).

A great performance from Gyllenhaal. Reminded me very much of a modern day Travis Bickle.

There were a few moments in this that worked. The seance was pretty scary.

It's seriously scary. The first episode when Janet's looking through that viewer thing.... that scene nearly made me soil my armour.
& the seance this week was pretty terrifying.

Yes indeedy, Ghostwatch was inspired by the Enfield poltergeist case.

If it wasn't for those meddling kids they might have got away with it.

Walking Dead Season 5 - Great stuff, varied, exciting, slightly concerned at the black-character-revolving-door thing they appear to have (one guy joins, one guy gets eaten etc), but overall a superb series. Impressed they managed to do Alexandria without it being a re-tread of Woodbury, too.

in dub we trust
& yes. The guy playing Kirk is just as wooden as Shatner was.
