Just out of curiosity....

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

What have you searched for? People remembering them? They called it quits seventeen years ago, according to

i dont recall hearing much by them when i used to go clubbing in those circles - they always seemed to me to be one of those "3rd division" goth bands like uk decay and play dead (& if you disregard "away", the bolshoi) - bands that never quite made it "big" or had a real dancefloor filler anthem :(

funny you should mention them because i recently tracked down "seduction" via soulseek but have yet to give it a listen :|

How Dare You QB!, mention Play Dead and The Danse Society in the same breath as that utter crap The Bolshoi?
Seen The Light on the b-side of the 12" 2,000 Light Years From Home and the title track (Stones cover, I know) are pure class.

Nice one Lil'

Picked up their greatest hits (!? maybe Best of.. would be more appropriate) a while ago.

Not bad. Only listened to it properly once but it seems to make most of the right noises.

I remember a couple of guys at University who really rated them, until they released 200 Light Years as a single. Releasing a cover version as an A side was always a bit of a risky business, and one which the Sisters were wise to aviod. I bought the Heaven Is Waiting CD off Amazon last July for about 8 quid. Bargain.
Go to sleep now, Francis.

"Heaven Is Waiting" is STILL one of my all-time fave singles - in particular the 12" extended version! ;-)
