Reading through that old thread still brings a tear to my eye.
It was ten years ago today...

...lest we forget.
Well I was handsome and I was strong
And I knew the words to every song.
"Did my singing please you?"
"No! The words you sang were wrong!"

mark i read your comment on Si's post on fb. I generally agree to that, plus i will add to that, i believe there was a desicion centre that asked those who organize it and we simply don't know who and maybe we will never know who really decide and order that

Back on topic...
Thanks Mark for remembering.
Even though I was the OP on that day, I still don't understand how 52 innocent people went to work, and never came home. The maimed, the injured, and their lives effected forever, can only speak for the 52.
I ran through a whole gamut of personal emotions that day. But learnt a few more that have held me in good stead in future life: Empathy, solidarity, and yes, defiance.
As Lee says: We will never forget.
Love to you both.

A young lady who was on the tube made a very good speech today. She reminded everyone that although it's fine to say 'it won't break us', there are very many that are badly cracked still, if not broken. If you can find a clip of her, have a listen.
She was 14 then, and on the way to work experience. A very wise and intelligent woman now.

56 people died in those bombs, not 52.
As I said to Si Denbigh on facebook:
As I said to Si Denbigh on facebook:
I don't even necessarily blame the actual bombers themselves. I blame the radical imams, the criminal masterminds who sent four young misguided men on their deadly mission. The families of the bombers are suffering just as much as the families of the other people who died.
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

I can't imagine what it must have been like but this quite long read adds to the many attempts to convey it.
