Fan mail

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Hi all,

I'd love to send a fan letter of some sort to the Sisters, however considering Mr. Eldritch's penchant for privacy, it does not seem like contact information is readily available on the internet... I probably won't be able to find a way to get in contact but I figured this place would be as good as any to ask. He used to respond to letters in UTR, and apparently there was at one point a way to send mail to him (the story behind 1959 is proof of that). Then again, that was the eighties and nineties. This is 2015, after all. Perhaps fan letters aren't much of a thing anymore.

Ah well, I'm asking anyway. Is there a forwarding address or something where I could express my appreciation for the Sisters?

I don't want to sadden you but as far as we know there's no such address to contact him.

(The only way to give him a fan letter is to meet him after a gig I think. ..but that is not easy either.)

Ah, I figured as such. Thanks anyway for the quick reply. I'm unable to go to any of the upcoming gigs this year, so I guess my letter will have to wait until next time.

You'd probably have better luck with sky writing. At night.

I know a few people who've made contact with Ben or Chris, and arranged for memorabilia to be signed, pre-gig, on the night. It goes in the closed back-door. It comes back out signed.

If you're not going to any of the gigs, get your letter to someone who is. I doubt you'll get a response from Andrew but at least you'll know your letter will have been delivered.

You could try contacting @tsomofficial on twitter.

Fair enough.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions everyone. I am not very familiar with twitter but trying to contact them there is good idea. More than likely won't get a response but it doesn't hurt to try!

Keep us informed. If he asks you on a date, be afraid.

Me? On a date with the Prince of Darkness himself? Not bloody likely!

As of this morning, I have tried to establish contact (cue X-Files theme). Now we wait.
